So my problem with this drama is that I feel like the scenes are very heavy with meaning- small details carry a lot of weight. But because I am not chinese I miss out on a lot of the subtlety... I end up with a feeling that a lot more just happened than I understood.
After watching the first few episodes of the original, I have to say...her face isn't such a big deal, and it seems she was dubbed too, so it's not her original voice either. Apart from hating the unethical aspects if ai, using ai face swapping to replace the original actress's face is no loss apart from to audiences who cling on to the nostalgia factor.
before going on further i want to know if wang really did cheat on zhao :/ please clarify
I think Wang did NOT actually cheat on her?! There was a kiss which the girl initiated and he pushed her away after a long time, that's as far as it went. The messages revealed that Wang's heart was moving away from Zhao, but he said he didn't want to divorce.
This drama was not what I hoped for sadface. I really liked the idea of the virtual game and that was what I watched it for, but the game element was really just a gimmick mostly.
It was a typical romance, good quality for a cdrama, the whole production was similar to what I think is more typical of kdrama, I call this drama "k-drama Lite". I know that the cdrama watchers and the kdrama watchers are quite distinct groups on this site, so as a cdrama I think this rates around 8.5 or 8.6, but measuring by kdrama standards its about 8.2 or 8.25.
Such an amazing drama, absolutely one of my faves. ZRN could have stood to be a bit more expressive in the happier scenes but I loved her depressed version. I found out that I really like depressed female leads from this...
28 years old is an adult and you can tell what is right and wrong. She's not a child. She made an evil choice.…
"Morality applies only when choices are abundant" sorry I hate to butt in, but I have to say I cannot agree! Morality applies in every situation. Morality is not just for times of ease. The more difficult the situation, the more important it is to cling to morality. It is not easy but then what is the point of morality in the first place.
I thought I was the only one bothered by those romantic scenes! It wasn't how I thought the forced intimacy scenarios…
yes exactly! the romantic scenes were just a bit "off", and it didn't have to be that way...
This is a story about a young woman who is strong both physically and mentally, facing off against the world; I think that maybe, like, there's this idea that "strong" women aren't allowed to want or give in to romance, or it always has to be a fight or drunk etc. - otherwise she is "weak". Which is such an odd, untrue and foolish thought.
A female character can be strong in every way and still be soft to romance at the same time. It does not contradict her strength.
So I watched this and I thought it was okay...but I was sad every time they hit the bird or called it stupid. Like, why??? It's just a cute bird? It's doing its best to please you? Taking an animal to eat it is one thing, but if you are going to use the services of an animal, do you really have to be mean to it ALL THE TIME?! :'(
Also wasn't keen on the weird voyeurism theme... doing it once for comedy okay haha move on. But it was laid on so thick it makes me wonder about the writer's/drama makers' mental state.
AND what is it with being romantic only under the influence of alcohol or drugs? I hate it! I might be in the minority here but I would much prefer be sober and all in before initiating kissing and whatnot.
I did enjoy the drama, but there were so many things doing my head in!

Just my opinion!
