How many contestants are there usually per season? 8? Then three are eliminated?
I'm not quite sure there will be another catfish. Typically, they do add another contestant but since the structure of the season is kind of already broken, I think we've seen all the contestants they're going to have.

I don't get how people can say the reshoot is unfair?! The newcomers knew that beforehand right? Maybe the subs…
I agree. I keep seeing this take, and I don't understand it. The newcomers do have the advantage. All these people left without finding a connection (-JaeHa and HyeongJun) so they should be very interested in whoever is new. If anything, there should have been more new people in the show. I've also been a little take aback but some of the agressiveness of some posts. I feel like I must be watching a different show.

There is no way yunjae will be eliminated? That wouldn’t make sense. If contestants are eliminating each other…
But does the elimination of both HJ's make sense? EHJ I understand since no one seems to want to pursue him, but Han Gyeol seems very interested in LHJ, so I'm not sure how he could be eliminated

I don’t really know about the disrespectful comments, but this whole reshooting thing is a complete mess. Adding…
I'm not sure that being a new cast member is as disastrous as people are making it out to be. Yes, a lot of the cast members know each other, but also (with the exception of Jae Ha and HyeongJun) clearly none of them clicked enough during the first shoot to get together or were interested enough to meet up after the show. Han Gyeol is extremely popular, with like half the cast being interested in him at one point. There would also probably be more going on if Jae Ha was not incapacitated in a depression fog. I think the show has issues with how they handled the reshoot - namely there should have been at least one more new person - but I really think that starting from 0 is kind of an advantage in many ways since they're new and shiny.

I have so many things to say sigh...Fans of dating shows/BL fans should reflect on their behavior for real...From…
To give production the benefit of the doubt, I alway assumed the eliminations were there because, since like 3/4 of the OG cast returned, they didn't want people wasting their time. A lot of these relationships played out already, and I think they were probably worried about contestants getting bored/having nothing to do for another week if they didn't connect with the new arrivals.

Title His Man Season 4 Spoiler
I really like Yun Jea, but some of his fans are truly brainless
Some of the stuff I'm reading is crazy, and I was here for all the SW hate in S2 ...and basically how everyone hated the entire S3 cast

Yea, these comments have always unsettled me a little. Even if we take the most "successful" contestants from the show, it's not like they were rocketed into stardom that will pay their bills forever. You articulated it so well. I think some people missed the commentary where former contestants revealed they even faced some homophobia from like cafe owners who agreed to let the show film there in the first place.

Title His Man Season 4 Spoiler
I am still having a blast here. I did feel bad for Taichi and Han Gyeol, but I think people should keep in mind that a) Taichi is ill and probably not feeling his best and 2) that was a really awkward activity for a first date. Han Gyeol clearly wants to talk with him and get to know him better, and there wasn't time for that during yoga. It would have been better to do this date later on. Or with Jae Ha and Hyeong Jun just to absolutely make the show wild. Maybe they will be able to reconnect later in the show. Or maybe, they just aren't a good fit in the end. Sometimes that happens. You think you're interested in someone and then it turns out you aren't. Bummer, but it happens

Title The Boyfriend Season 2 Spoiler
I don't know why, but I don't think Huwei and Bomi go together as a couple. As much as Bomi was into Huwei, Huwei…
My unpopular opinion is that Huwei's behavior reminds me of when you go on a date with someone and they're perfectly lovely, but you just haven't clicked with them. So you keep them at arm's length because obviously there is nothing wrong with them and you think maybe if you just try it out, you might feel different. But there isn't that romantic connection

Guys help me out here. I saw people talking about this on X. In the previews, Hyunjun can be heard in a voiceover…
So, I haven't really looked into this, but a couple of things to keep in mind. First, these quotes could be basically about anything. If they had a conversation about previous relationships, the first line could easily fit in. The second one could also be about anything - it could be that he's saying he liked someone (YunJae, Sunwook, who knows) the first day and nothing has changed. The show has done deceptive editing before, so who even really knows. As for the love thing - it could be a mistranslation, but from my understanding, Korean culture uses the word love in relationships a lot more quickly than others. We know very little about the relationship history between HyunJun and the other contestants, so until we know more, it's anyone's guess

may be an unpopular opinion but i still feel rlly bad for jaeha, like its clear he doesn't wanna give up on hyeongjun.…
Not unpopular in my books. I genuinely think he came back on the show to come out. He's been consistent in that story and it's what he said during the break up. He's not the first contestant to basically come out on the show and former contestants have said they understand why he did this. I think he thinks since Hyeong Jun also came back that he can repair that relationship and go back to the way it was. I'm not totally sold yet that HJ will come around
On His Man Season 4 Jan 30, 2026
I'm having a blast guys. Season 4 is the cozy warm vibe I really like from His Man, and I think they do super well. Yes, I do wish we got one more new person. I don't think 3 is enough when so many returned. But there are people interested in a wide range of people despite the returns, and idk they're all so nice. I'm very excited!

I feel bad for Jae Ha, but I am also surprised he's so set on getting back with Hyeong Jun. He did end the relationship, and he probably couldn't have known whether HJ would come back on the show. So he should have been fairly prepared to date around.

You mostly have it right. They shot season 4, but then realized they couldn't use the footage because one of the participants was involved with a scandal. We don't know who or what the scandal was. 6/8 men returned to the show for the reshoot. Right now, the two new additions to the cast are Yun Jae and Han Gyeol while everyone else is a returnee. The only solid connection from last season we know is that Jae Ha and Hyeong Jun left the show as a couple; they actually broke up to come back onto the show because Jae Ha wanted to use the show to come out to those around him.

Since most of the participants are from the cancelled shoot. Do you think they can use some of the old footage…
I'm actually a little shocked they haven't. Obviously, they can't show anything involving the problematic cast member, but I think it would be really helpful to show some of the other cast interactions just so that audiences are aware of previous emotions involved. On the other hand, it seems like the whole cast is trying to go for a fresh start, so maybe they don't think it's as nessesary.

As an additional thought, doing the show basically takes any and all of the work out of his hands. He doesn't have to explain anything or have an awkward talk with his parents and friends. He also doesn't have to do it multiple times or go through the pressure of preparing how/when/what to say. He can just let the show speak for itself. I honestly see the temptation because it would be so much easier to basically tell people without actually having to tell them, if you see what I mean
On His Man Season 4 Jan 26, 2026
I understand production had to do the re-shoot, there isn't much that probably could be done about it. I do just wish they'd added more new people. It's clear most of them will be interested in the new faces, so I wish that we could get at least 4 new contestants to balance it all out. Otherwise, I sort of feel if they didn't click the first time around, they won't the second.

I haven't heard about that. But canonically, all the History series take place in the same universe. This means (because of what happened in History 1: Obsessed), there is a witch character who is capable of sending people back in time. My personal head-canon is that HaoTing eventually goes back to remedy the past while confronting how it changes his future.
On HIStory3: Make Our Days Count Dec 27, 2025
Please spoiler yourself before watching. Spoilers ahead. I know some people have come around on the ending in recent years, I simply cannot. In fact, as I grow older, it makes me angrier. I do not find catharsis in the senseless death of a teenage boy with 1 (technically 2 depending how you watched it) episode to go. To be honest, it doesn't even make me think about how precious life is - it still feels like a writing betrayal. Just naming the show 'Make our days count' does not a theme make. HaoTing's actor gives it his all, and he is giving one the best performances of the century, but it does not make up for the fact that if the show wanted to target grief, it should have killed Xi Gu earlier in the series and spent more time examining the aftermath. It does still ruin the series for me, despite the rest of the show being a 10/10
