**Just want to make a PSA for those who seem to be confused.** But first a disclaimer: I am not affiliated with…
I personally think what you said is true....cuz I realised that since last year idk what happened to them but the Korean industry is indeed putting more sexual content wherever possible, which was more of a taboo back then. They usually like to keep things clean and sexual content is generally not promoted but these days in every other drama, there is sexual content or nudity. Even in school-based dramas. A lot of them are not purely filled with it but there's actually no need for it as well. They used to put forth the content even without such scenes back then, which is why I do agree that they are kinda westernising it.
Even the scripts are more like western shows, for eg the script of the recent series- hierarchy and so on

I'm taking a wild guess here, but I don't believe this drama can be even REMOTELY as entertaining as this comment…
I couldn't get your feelings until I started scrolling down

Title The Spirealm Spoiler
The last episode didn't really made much sense to me personally.....I always hated this kind of ending. It would be much better if they were all just gone and I just had cried for it and then it would be done. Now this kinda feels empty and insincere to me. I can't help but feel that way.

At least, Ruan being an NPC made me ease my heart, bcuz the only thing that irritated me in this whole series was that how dumb the characters were at some points. Like the clues were just in front of them, so obvious, yet they would realise it minutes later. Sometimes the leads, even Ruan would be so dumb and then the next moment hella smart. Quite a contradiction to their IQ level. But after learning that Ruan was an NPC, I understood why he kinda got dumb at times, since he couldn't expose himself to Ling Jiushi.

I'm overly impressed by Xia Zhiguang's acting.....it was perfectly relatable and realistic. I have only watched him before in 'Please classmate' where his role was very different from here and he didn't had such an overly complicated character like here. So his skills couldn't be shown enough, I still liked his cute and silly character there. But the character Ruan gave me chills like no other, it can't be expressed as just liking the character, but rather respect towards it.

Idk if i should say this or not, since people would attack me, but considering this as a public discussion forum to express one's opinion.....I'll just let it out of my heart. I personally feel that Huang junjie kinda didn't got as engrossed in his character as others it. Half of the time he was really good, but specially in the emotional scenes, it kinda felt superficial and not that real.
The only time I got chills from his acting was in the scene where everyone thought Ruan died in that 10th door game.

This series, just like other series based on the same concept, still had loopholes. However, the actors and their characters were tremendous!! The emotional bond I felt with all the characters scares me too.....I just felt their joy, sorrow and friendship even though I was just watching them through a screen
All in all, I really enjoyed it....I would never hold people back from watching it. The games were still interesting to watch, the stories about the NPCs were interesting. My heart just broke for Ruan, I feel overly sad and bad. It literally feels so terrible inside even when this was just a series. Now ik why people were so emotional about the line " I appeared for you and I will disappear for you"

Agree with you.. Like truth game was ridiculous. Then the next game where 4 of them were freezed, I was like is…
I lost the count of the number of loopholes it had.....and it felt pretty dry considering how just the people related to the leads were in prison. Ik that it was bcuz only they were allowed to play the game. but the way they were making that prison some grand thing, I expected more. As the drama progressed, the games started getting worse

Title 19th Floor Spoiler
I personally feel that the games at the start were nicely made, they were actually dependent on their ability. But midway, the games just started getting messy and impossible. They just focused on influencing the leads emotionally or sowing discord between them. The antagonist just did whatever he wanted, and it took away the basic meaning of being a game.
I wish they would've just kept making games harder rather than influencing the characters' emotions.
At the end, when she got to know the truth about her father, everything in the storyline started going downhill, the novelty of the drama in itself vanished.
The drama had a lot of details which usually other dramas of the same concept do not have, but the details were kinda illogical at times, and didn't really made sense.

I could only complete it bcuz of the attachment I formed with the characters during the first half of the show.
But yes, almost all the side characters got a good character development, whereas the leads got dumber and weird
However, It was a decent show. It's not underrated or overrated, it's just perfectly rated

I feel the same....they changed the whole concept and personality of FL, just to get along with the story. Even if she faced such things, she didn't had to be turned into making dumb choices. At least, they should've made her overly emotional rather than cold but making dumb choices

except last two episodes....its ok, watchable drama
indeed!! In the last 2 eps, the production quality declined and even the story was rushed. It was perfect with details at every point but at last they just wanted to include those usual tropes to make a rushed ending. They should've rather kept it clean and simple

I just personally wish for him to do a modern drama with a great script.....he did so well in amidst the snowstorm of love as Second lead, I wish his character had more scenes or romance or just anything.
Wishing to see him in a modern drama in future!!!

Ik I got diabetes over these few days....I think I'm gonna miss this. They were way too perfect which was both the advantage and disadvantage of this drama. I liked the mature dialogues written in the script, especially the ML's.
The OST - LOVE AND SHINE was amusingly PERFECT.....it goes so well with the drama and suited every occasion it was played on. I fell for Zhou Keyu's voice!!

I'm glad I decided to watch it but I hate the fact that I'm gonna feel empty for some days now that I've completed it. It was such a beautifully directed and calming drama. No toxicity and exciting competitions presented.

It kinda made me become more interested in Billiards....so I searched the rules for 9-ball and snooker, and I enjoyed every game presented in the drama.
I just wish that the last match of men's snooker team could've been directed more nicely without many cut scenes. It kinda took away the fun to watch the game in itself.
