YIKES that's going to be hard since historical dramas are based on the past, I also heard they don't like how "beautiful and extravagant" the set and costumes are because it glorifies the past which is hard because ALL Chinese Historicals are like that...that's probably why SO MANY DRAMAS ARE PUSHED BACK and never aired (Jade Lovers etc) I just hope Pillow Book will still air

yess same sis I hate the ban so much I stopped watching all other genres or try but can't finish them this year except for 1 or 2 exceptions like Prison Playbook but Historical/Wuxia Cdramas are the best

Other country may have good historicals but Cdrama are the best at it

I still keep seeing Ju Jing Yi as Yunxi everytime she comes on screen she's perfect for this role so cute and pretty

Been a long wait I'm glad it's worth it so far
I love that this version is shorter with only 36, I watched 30 eps of the version with (Destiny of the White Snake) and dropped it cause of all the "fluff" aka bullshit lol

So glad this made it past the Chinese historical ban for the summer probably because it has shorter amount of episodes I hope they don't ban Chinese historical dramas for good they are like the only thing I watch these days

I love these types of dramas Japan does them best! Gives me a bit of Gokusen vibes which I grew up watching so good

It's actually TERRIFYING that the characters are so dark and REALISTIC, it really shines a light on how privileged we are compare to people like this

only on the first ep but my heart is already broken every scene IU is in and with her Granny
IU'S Acting is PHENOMENAL Props to her for stepping out of her comfort zone and playing this type of role

No don't air this one just leave the time slot open there are so many other historicals I would rather see air but the censorship is strong in China they are being so picky with Chinese dramas airing

No other currently airing kdrama kept my attention since 2019 started, glad this is still good and it might even make me want to get out of my kdrama slump
Jun Ki was my favorite character so glad he's still here but wish we get a cameo from baby Sol

I had to drop Goodbye my princess it was too sad only got up to ep 9 but still are you watching it still? Does it get any less tragic?

Its the best slow burn romance drama I've seen in a while the main actress is so fun to watch on screen even when the first half barely has romance the plot and acting is just too good

They are either Best friends or a couple! But 2020 noo the wait is too long

The other one is better, honestly I get it they tried to get viewers from the past to watch this one but it's been so many years it's hard to get into and this one doesn't feel right
With that great cast they should have just scrapped the remake/spin-off and used them in a better way by making a whole new drama
