Just finished and LOVED these: - Jia Yu's relationship with her team and her team's adoration and respect to her - Jia Yu and Ouyang's friendship - Jia Yu and Ye Ming's friendship - it felt natural - Friendship between Jia Yu and Liu Feng and later on Liu Feng's wife The side stories of patients . IMO these side characters who are minor actors/actresses are sooo good, in fact even better actors than some leads. Not just in this drama but all dramas in general. Hats off to them for making the stories more interesting, dramatic, fluid and organic.
Love to Hate characters: - Li Ying : she was annoying. bratty and was such a pest - Ye Lan : mean, evil sister who judged and gossiped even before she met Jia Yu - Yue Ming : delusional mistress who was so full of herself and got what she deserved in the end. Also, could they have picked a better actress to portray her character? She is no match for Jia Yu especially physically. She's emaciated and looked like an elementary-school kid with nary a redeeming factor.
Also, maybe it's just me but I shipped Jia Yu with Dr. Long in the beginning. I felt some chemistry there. Which is probably why I skipped all of Long and Nurse's scenes (the ONLY scenes I skipped in this whole drama) :D
I was fooled in watching this due to the high rating but just like the previous peeps, dropped this like a hot potato on epi 17. It just became too redundant and repetitive and felt like an insult to us watcher, IMO.
NGL, I almost dropped this because it got a little redundant and frustrating but I held on. The secondary and 3rd couples were interesting and cute respectively so that was at least a breather from the frustration. I held on though and finished it. Pros: no evil, conniving antagonists and real kisses! :D
I first saw the FL in those period dramas where she acted as an antagonist each time but I was impressed by her acting prowess (such expressive eyes!) that I'm glad I found this one to watch. The strong, smart woman roles fits her so well.
May be an unpopular opinion but while I like the news reporter and lawyer separately, I feel like the lawyer was quick to move his affections from Oh Han Byul to the reporter. And as for the reporter, doesn't she feel weird knowing that the Atty liked/like and confessed to her best friend? IRL, there's supposed to be a girl code, isn't there? I know, this is not real life. Just venting as I wanted more Atty and Oh Han Byul moments too to give us more SML syndrome. (sigh) I guess this is the trouble for multiple couples all crammed in a 16 episode show.
Loving the friendship and camaraderie between the co-workers and Oh Han Byeul's BFFS <3 As always, love LSK! How I wish she gets more dramas where they showcase her talent.
ps: anyone notice that one of Oh Han Byeul's staff is one of the nurses from Romantic 3? Love it! : )
Re-watching this now and Luo Yon's character tops my most hated female antagonists in Cdramaland. (Which means the actress was good as she played her role effectively). I really love Annie Chen and Chris Wu's chemistry here! (second of course to George Wu and her)
Thank you for this article. I am also currently watching it and stopped at epi 18 as I wait for more episodes to be subbed. Meanwhile, I see BTS footages and episode trailers/sneak peeks on YT and I am excited for the coming episodes.
I love these kind of shows where the leads are both independent and supportive of each other's careers (some similar ones: Falling into your Smile and Love is Sweet). They respect each other with the decisions they make without being clingy or needy. And this one is a slow burn without making the viewers frustrated :D
Thanks again for the article. Short, sweet, no spoilers. Good job! Looking forward to reading more of your articles.
Just finished and loved it! First time seeing FL and now a fan! She's not drop dead gorgeous but her acting is soooo good and she looked prettier without a lot of make-up.
Didn't care much for the 2nd and 3rd couples so I skipped their scenes. Repeated last 5-6 epis and will probably re-watch from the beginning one day : )
My first "gaming" drama and I loved it! I started Love O20 because of all the hype and high ratings but ended up dropping it. Started Go Go Squid - again for the recommendations and high ratings but the FL's character was sooo annoying and childish, ended up dropping it too. (just my opinion, I know a lot of people loved this show)
This one was just right for me. I'm not a gamer nor do I understand the games but the way they showed the games being "played" is enough for me.
Loved the friendship, camaraderie, competition and family.

First time to watch Eleanor Lee and became a fan, I even follow her on IG :D

She had a bucket list as if she was dying for chrissakes!
It could've been better but instead it felt disjointed from epi 10-12

I added all her dramas on my plan to watch list :D
