Uhm, I hate Netflix subs, did it say he served a minor? She's 18, so not a minor. She says that she lied to Kawol…
Fiction does influence how we think, feel, and behave whether we realize it or not. Stories shape cultural norms, reinforce or challenge power structures, and help us empathize with (or normalize) certain behaviors. When problematic things like abuse, manipulation, or toxic relationships (not necessarily this drama; just some examples) are romanticized without critique, they can desensitize audiences or subtly reinforce harmful ideas especially in younger or more impressionable viewers. Saying, “it’s just a drama, not ethics-101” overlooks that drama is often where people learn their ethics consciously or not. I learn this in university as a literature major.
Thanks for the added information tho! It did clear up many things. I think a lot of context just really got lost in cultural nuances.
I don’t mind a flawed character, but I find the male lead too problematic as nobody held him accountable for serving a minor (the letter is insufficient). If anything, it was the female student who was punished. She is a child. She shouldn’t be the one taking responsibility for that. Let me know if this changes because I really want to watch it. It’s intriguing.
Commenting this again. Please let me know if the FL starts liking the ML only after finding out his real age. I’d feel uncomfortable if she gets attracted to him thinking he’s a high schooler when she’s a teacher.

The thing that makes me really mad is that they can't even update us on this project. I know life is hard and…
as someone who's suffering from depression and knows what it's like to go offline for months, i find your comments unfair. you have no idea what people go through. just be grateful they even subbed the first few episodes. that's already a feat.
Exactly! there are so many people just fed up at this point, this is the first time i've had to wait this long…
you have no idea what people are going through. maybe they're just in a slump. just be grateful they even did the first 6 episodes. that's already a feat.
Well father is not completely blameless ...when ever there was a decision when he should have discussed with the…
I'm Asian too and I know. :( But even with the smallest things like she doesn't even let Mingyue choose food and clothes. (Altho in that episode, she finally does let Mingyue order the food so props to her).
I guess if this were real life, the mom is learning her lesson but I just wish it was shown on screen.

Yes, his father was lazy, but Mingyue's mom still needs to be held accountable for her actions. If she regretted it, it wasn't shown. It was Mingyue who felt guilty and had to chase after her mom. I just wish it was shown that the mother was reflecting on her mistakes before she was forgiven. The way it was handled makes it seem like that way of parenting is alright.
NOT ONLY WAS MINGYUE'S MOM NOT HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR HER DICTATORIAL WAYS BUT THE BLAME WAS ALSO PLACED ON MINGYUE'S DAD!!
I'm all for forgiveness, but Mingyue's mother didn't even realize what she did wrong. She kept defending herself and justifying it as her way of caring for her family. I don't doubt that she loves them, but her methods were abusive, toxic and unhealthy. She would consult her family for decisions but would just invalidate them afterwards. Because her mom never valued her individuality, Mingyue grew up not valuing her own opinions too, indecisive and self-deprecating.
Also, I can't believe they put the blame on the father for not standing up to the mother!! This is like victim-blaming!! How are you more mad at him than the toxic parent??
I love this show because we get to see a different definition of a family and it tackles so many issues that a family faces, but I expected this issue to be handled better.
"If he already had a crush on Tine before, why didn't he ever make the first move?" Because he didnt know Tine's…
All these scenes are significant, but what I'm saying is, all of these clips can live on even without that flashback. Although, at this point, it's a matter of opinion. I'm studying writing in college actually, so I feel like it's just a difference in writing styles at this point. I can see how some will like it. Not saying it's wrong. :)
We love the actors. We love that its light and cheesy. We love the chemistry. If you dont get it, we wont hate…
"Dont make our day bad. " I wasn't insulting the show. If I were, I would've said the show is ugly without stating my reasons for thinking so. This is a review site. If you can't handle opposing opinions, why are you here?
Again, I usually enjoy cheesy as well, but the way this was written and directed just lacked. However, I do have to acknowledge its feat for being so popular because I'm sure it'll open up doors towards more Thai BL series for first-timers.
I usually don't mind corny and cheesy, but this one doesn't have an interesting story, and it feels like it's just relying on their actor's attractiveness.
Some scenes are also just plain funny (e.g. Tine's cheer leading steps or lack thereof). I wish these were directed much better.
I also wish they hadn't made it so that Sarawat was already in love with Tine before because it seemed very random. If he already had a crush on Tine before, why didn't he ever make the first move? Again, it just seemed random.
I love the actors, but I don't understand why people love the story. If people are looking for Thai BL dramas specifically, there are ones that have much better writing and directing than this.
