lol. My guess is no. The giveaway is often inaccurate placement and movement of the pelvic areas. Two people who are actually schtupping will move their pelvises to MEET against each other, not in sync back and forth. No friction that way. When they're in the bar and she's up on the countertop, overhead shots show she's too far back away from him for insertion to be possible.

And I have a question regarding that bar scene and many other Asian sex scenes I've viewed: Do Asian men usually, really hammer away that fast? I call it "rabbit-f**king." I see it in Asian porn also and often think, do these guys not know to slow down and do some pleasurable, slow-stroking? In the bar scene the ML was vibrating away like a jack-hammer rather than slow-stroking it for maximum pleasure. I feel badly for Asian women and gay bottoms.

Where were all the explicit sex scenes people below were complaining about? I saw exactly TWO. But I don't think a lot of MDL people know the meaning of the English word "explicit." Porno is explicit. This stuff is called ACTING.

Pretty good Yakuza-type flick. Great fight scenes. The Koreans are the best at those by far. But what makes Korean Yakuza thrillers watchable to me is the characters they create and get me to care about. That said, I didn't buy the romance at all. It came out of nowhere and there was not one second of interaction between them that anything other than lust. But we see this in this type of film. The inexperienced kid falls immediately for a slightly older, VERY experienced gun moll because it's in the script. There is nothing else to explain the hot ML's infatuation. He doesn't seem to notice or care that apparently everyone in the organization has pumped this woman multiple times before him. Anyway, that aspect felt forced.

Other than that, everything was top-notch, especially the acting and fighting of Lee Min Ki and the always excellent Park Sung Woong. LMK is a beautiful man and a good actor but I would have had him put on ten pounds for the role. He looked like a long, tall string bean fighting off those mean, beefy thugs all the time. Though he did so convincingly.

In the United States at least, marriage between first cousins is entirely legal in a majority of the states. So to me this doesn't feel so daring, but maybe it will upon watching. Kind of wish the director would have made them brother and sister, THAT would get my attention.

Have you seen the Korean remake, 2020? I just watched both one after the other. To me, they are almost entirely different stories. I much prefer the Korean, though there are commenters under that film going on about how much better this one is. Oh well...lol

Wow, it's so interesting how differently two people can perceive the same films. I watched this one last night and just finished watching the Japanese version. I feel exactly the opposite about everything you wrote, down to the details. So that said, I don't really need to lay out my take on this one, just pretend you read a mirror image of your comment above. :)

Yes, I've noticed that too. Especially the strange wearing of wide slacks with tennis shoes and a tucked-in short-sleeve shirt, no belt. I guess it's a thing there. Blueming is one of my fave BLs but the taller lead was mostly in big baggy slacks til near the end when they finally found him a pair of well-fitting jeans that highlighted his great legs. In "Merry Happy Ending" the wedding singer wears suits with slim pant legs and looks so much better than the guy stalking him in loose slacks and tennis shoes. lol I do like that different styles are worn concurrently these days, rather than ONE look on everyone all the time at the same time.

But god, that pale blue, baggy jeans-suit or whatever it is on the stalker in this show is so ugly.

I appreciate your second paragraph but I wish we all didn't feel like we need to include language like that in our comments to make sure someone doesn't take "offense" and come after us viciously or complain to moderators. Of course, we both, and everyone else, has the right to our opinion as well as the right to state it in comments. Oh. lol I rarely read them but this one caught my eye because I thought it was going to be another K-media attempt to destroy an actor's career because of private-life behavior it deems immoral or wrong or some such other BS. Which is probably why the headline was written this way, right?

I've been noticing a disturbing trend too: Commenters who bash other commenters for trashing a show the first set of commenters likes. It's a comment section. We all get to voice our opinions. And one or two eps of an 8 ep show is more than enough to know if it meets one's standards or not. I find your suggestion people lower their standards for BL productions to be silly. That's how we got two shows out of Thailand every week, but also two shows out of Thailand that are good every year.

Nearly three years ago, Thailand somehow made ITSAY and then later IPYTM. It's been downhill since then. BL does not necessarily equate with low quality. That's what BL marketers want you to believe though, so you'll keep watching the garbage.

What kind of show requires the removal of your brain before watching? A not very good one. Also, it is not "hate" to express one's honest opinion about various aspects of a show in a comment thread made specifically made for that purpose. Calling it "hate" is a not-so-subtle way of telling people who don't rave over the show to STFU. But it doesn't work.

They look awful. The show likely has a promotional contract with the company that makes these huge, ill-fitting clothes and so the actors have to wear them. They don't dress like actual, human professionals dress in Korea, that is for sure. Such ugliness. I know all about fashion, blah blah blah, but this is what you call being a "fashion victim."

I'm not sure everything from when she told him the first time to leave and not come back wasn't a fantasy. But if that were the case, what sense would it make for the scenes of him out and about interviewing, running into the evil former professor/lover, being out at the bar with the nice professor, etc. to have been in her fantasy? Or were we seeing a mix of her fantasy and the reality? Hell, I don't know. A second watch is required.

Wow. Near-perfection. Sat on my PTW list forever and I kept skipping. Tonight it broke my heart in the best way.

Highly recommended. A romance/drama as it seems only the Japanese and Koreans can do them. Who needs Hollywood schlock?

Naturally, the MDL rating is two full points below where it should be.
