Does someone have a full list of the dramas referenced in this?Goblin and Wolf Boy were pretty much the only ones…
1. That purple jacket reference is from Secret Garden 2. Descendants of the Sun 3. Love Rain (if I remember correctly) 4. Glamorous Temptation (hope I'm right) I'm not sure these are all the rederences, but in case you didn't watch any of them you should ad them to your bucket list. ;)
This is by far one of the best dramas I've seen in a while. Unlike others, I've waited patiently and after the last episode aired I watched all of it in 2 days. The ending affected me a lot, I'm still sad and if I listen tot the soundtrack it keeps bringing back sad memories. I've never experienced anything like this with any other drama.
In my point of view the ending was perfect. I wanted for them to be together until the end of time, but if you look at it, her reason there was gone - she wanted the people to remember him as a kind and wise king and she did it. Even though at first she tried to protect everyone, the only reason she ended up there was to make him king.
Now about the fact that she didn't let him know about their daughter: I think she knew that at some point after her death he would find out, but she trusted his love for her. And he didn't disappoint, his love for her was great enough to live apart from his daughter and cherish Soo's last wish.
Even though the last scene of the drama tend to suggest there's more to the action, I'm not sure I want a second season. The only possibility is for them to be together in the present. If you think about it - search on the internet the second season for the Chinese version - the magic of the drama will be gone. Goryeo has the perfect set for their love: the clothes, the landscapes, the politics, etc. If you continue the action in modern Seoul it would be blunt and shallow and I'm not sure it would turn out as good.
