I think switch couples are not that common in real life. But anyone can tell me differently. While I'm not a fan…
"I thought someone who wanted to dictate others sex positions and had a "preference" about who should be the top/bottom can never be part of the community"
...girl, are you not listening? these are FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. not real people. of course I would never say a top should be this or a bottom should be that irl, because those are real human beings. I literally do not care who tops or bottoms in real life relationships, thats none of my business and grossly invasive. but THIS is different because they're characters. so why are you treating them like real people?? the fact that you guys think I go out and harass gay people about who's the top and bottom is baffling.
also, since I saw this being thrown around earlier, I do actually have plenty of lgbt friends who think this way too, so claiming that "real gay people" would never think like this is very wrong. we just understand there's a difference in media and reality.

thank you for assuming I'm not lgbt, really warms my heart. also, I would like to just point out again that these are fictional characters, they don't have feelings and we can do whatever we want with them. tv shows are supposed to be fun and entertaining, y'all are the ones who took it so personally.

If their fictional sexual position is the reason you’re not watching the show, then you’re weird as hell.…
I'm weird because I don't like a certain dynamic in a tv show? how awful. also I was talking about the novel, and the characters didn't guilt trip but some readers were saying that Pat should let Pran top because he asked, which isn't how that works.

"why do you have to know who's the top and bottom? isn't their love enough?"
no, actually, cause there's this thing called "preferences" and my preference was Pran as the bottom and Pat as the top. I'm glad I checked the reviews though so now I know that they switch and I just dodged a bullet.
I don't know what it is with so many people who like switch couples thinking they're on the moral high ground, we're all watching BL dramas for gay content and entertainment, I'm not expecting 100% realism. I always pick who I prefer as the top and bottom in BL and have certain standards for them (like beefy bottoms are a squick for me) because it's *not real* and just for fun.
also, it's really rude to say things like "switch couples are more realistic/healthy" because in reality, even though switches make up a large amount, there ARE exclusive top/bottom relationships that are just as real and healthy. but you know what isn't healthy? some of y'all saying stuff like it was annoying how in the novel Pat refused to bottom for Pran "even though he asked"... and? if Pat didn't want to bottom because it made him uncomfortable then too bad, guess there won't be any sex. you should not EVER guilt trip your partner into preforming sexual acts they don't want to do, no exceptions. this would be different if it was a kink or you just wanted Pat to bottom for preference, but y'all seem to actually bring that type of thinking into reality, that it needs to be "fair" to be realistic. nope. not at all.
anyways, despite all this mess, what I did see of the series was very cute and funny. the acting was well done and the characters were very likable! sad it wasn't what I wanted, but it is what it is.
