This is one of my favourite shows of the year so far, no idea why so many people insist on watching shows they're not enjoying just so they can complain about them.
I'm afraid to start watching this... since it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the trailers... I don't…
I had to watch the second half of my golden blood on double speed because the only watchable thing in the whole show was mond, but I'm really enjoying this one.
i've seen so many people call this show inconsistent but either don't mention what they're specifically talking…
I'm not the only person who thinks this show is good so clearly it's not as objectively terrible as you are making it out to be. And again, please show me these supposedly obvious references: if they are as many and egregious as you keep saying they are surely it can't be hard for you to come up with one single example to prove your position, which you still haven't managed to do besides passive aggressively insulting me. If you think one or two shot homages that make sense in context and a dancing scene that also both makes sense in context and ties back to other themes of the show.
But also based on the other shows you've rated on here I think we just have a fundamental disagreement about what good television is, which is fine, and I'm done talking about it.

I never said editors are magicians but it is just a fact that when the editor is stitching scenes together they often have other priorities than strict continuity, and it's fine if that bothers you but I don't think it's evidence that the director is phoning it in
Again I think the show isn't perfect but TO ME everything you've mentioned is on the level of "sure I guess" and otherwise pretty intense nitpicking. If you were enjoying the show more you probably wouldn't be loosing your mind over a guy in his mid-20s not washing his hands when he didn't even realize he would be near a child later, and mostly I'm just like if you hate the show this much why are you still watching it.
But also my friend just reminded me that I gave up arguing with strangers online for new years and I don't think this is a productive conversation, so ✌️

Okay well the thing is that the person editing the show and the person directing the show are different people, and sometimes the person editing the show has to use certain shots because of reasons unrelated to the director's vision, and I don't think it's fair to blame all discontinuity between shots on the director. Also tbh the amount of men who don't wash their hands after using the restroom, either on tv or in real life, I would 100% believe Style wouldn't even think about that.
My point about Fadel is that I do in fact think it is perfectly possible that Fadel, who currently thinks his brother has been kidnapped, is possibly in crisis mode and his only thought is that he needs to get Style out of the hospital asap and that he has enough experience removing bodies from buildings (a thing I am not imagining but actually a thing we have been explicitly shown he had experience with) that he is willing to take the risk of doing it immediately rather than wait for a possibly better occasion later. I don't think that means that either Fadel or the JoJo has forgotten that the police are in the building, which is what you have said your issue with that scene is.
And again, if you're just going to say this references X without giving me a single actual reference, I'm going to assume whatever reference you're talking about is so minor that it's insignificant to the actual show and that your dislike of it is just that you dislike the show and are hating on everything about it regardless of how much it actually affects the show. I'm perfectly willing to believe there are references to pulp fiction in there! But if no one I know watching it noticed it enough to care, I don't think it's as egregiously incongruous as you do.

I didn't notice a camera in any shot so sure okay, I'll give you that (though frequently there are many reasons why an imperfect shot is the only one that can be used and I wouldn't necessarily blame a director if that turned out to happen) but I still think that most of your complaints boil down to "I wouldn't do it this way so it's bad" and you're attributing a lack of care where it's just a difference of intention. So agree to disagree if you want.
I still have no idea what you're talking about with the shoehorned in 90s movies references, I'm a 90s kid and have probably seen every movie you're referring to and I haven't noticed anything jarring, including the two movies you referenced, so unless you have specific scenes from those films you're talking about I still don't know what you mean.

I get that you don't like this show but also basically everything you've pointed to as an inconsistency (most of which again aren't specific, just saying "character does X without saying which character isn't actually specific) is intentional. Both Fadel and Bison clearly WANT to be normal, Bison is just more aware of it because he has less specific trauma about it (we don't actually need to know much about Fadel's ex at this point, knowing that he existed shows us that Fadel as a person is open to love and enjoys it when he has it, other details are probably coming later because honestly Fadel himself probably doesn't have the full details on what happened and we'll learn when he does) Kant's character seems inconsistent because he himself is torn between what the police are asking of him and his genuine growing feelings for Bison. Bison seems inconsistent because he's desperate for love but also has zero impulse control and rage issues. Fadel clearly yearns for more normal domesticity (why does he insist on running a normal business when he doesn't have to). Their mother was obviously always going to be evil and if you didn't spot that from the start than I don't know what you were watching. Similarly, everyone I know watching knew Fadel wasn't faking it because there'd be no tension if he was, the fact that many people assumed the worse option isn't the show's fault. It's very clear to me and all my friends that Fadel is falling for Style against his own will, because just like Bison he's crying out for the normal life he thinks he'll never have. He has no real reason to mistrust Style so he has no real reason to lie to him
Also I don't think it's that insane that a trained hitman would be able to drag someone who we know he is capable of manhandling out of a building when the guy is unconscious, even with only one arm, and if that is the kind of thing you think is inexcusable than idk what other action shows/TV you are watching because it's pretty standard.
Also you keep talking about how its just full of references to "that 90s movie" when there's been one single reference to 10 thing, which was obviously an in-joke for people familiar with the reference material, and a few purely aesthetic references to Romeo + Juliet. Most of the other aesthetic references are much older (Kant for instance, is clearly mid-60s) and all the references are very consistent and clearly chosen. Even if you're not enjoying the show, I genuinely don't understand how you can think it is just thrown together.
I’m sorry, but would there be no certain aesthetics and american culture reference, no way I would’ve guessed…
i've seen so many people call this show inconsistent but either don't mention what they're specifically talking about or point out inconsistencies that are actually clearly intentional parts of the storytelling and reflections of how the characters themselves are all lying both to themselves and each other.
I think it is honestly the best show of all the bls i'm currently watching. the direction is excellent. if people think that actors just magically give good performances unrelated to the director than i don't really know what they think direction is. look at dunk's performance in any of his other shows compared to this and it's very clear that the direction here is making him better than he has previously been, his performance in hidden agenda was almost unwatchable.
