I also detest war but ranting it here won't change the system of South Korean built military operations. This drama is aimed not to reinforce military system but in a society with it, they are making it "liveable" through eating actual delicious food .
Loving ep 2, as a physician, the nurse explaining the consequences of leaving the family struck me the most in this drama. It is one way of convincing patients to take care of their health.
Shipping the main leads too. Yes, the 2ML is hot (I saw on IG that they ship the FL & 2ML more and the ML & the male nurse) but so far, I am liking the progress of the relationship bw the doctor and the nurse. Also, IRL, it's possible that this kind of connection can happen even without the romance but since it's a kdrama i understand that there'll be such.
The documentary part that has "the office" type of filming is just a style to show that it was done by an amateur journalist. Although I would say too amateur that a college student filming with a phone with video stabilization would probably do better. The "real" parts are edited unproblematically.
I actually like JinwooXJihye's date the most but I'm liking the pace of SiwonxJiseung as the couple. The latter has the most potential and are the most likely to be endgame for now. Yunso repeatedly asking for assurance from Juhee kinda reflects some insecurity and probably desperation. Or maybe it was edited that way.
On the other hand, the catfish guy looks handsome, on par with Siwon.
I love Lee Junyoung acting in most of his previous works but his portrayal of the grandfather is not convincing. It is so incongruent with Son Hyun Joo's portrayal of that character. I hope he sheds that childish demeanor when the grandfather have this strong aura. He had his pettiness but it didn't felt like the grandfather's soul is in the soccer player's body.
This is military propaganda done very poorly, it's basically: all soldiers have PTSD (basically the people who…
Im not sure if you are aware, korean men are obligated to serve the army for at least 2 years IRL. It is their status quo in there. The male lead was assigned to the food post which is also a real post. The gamifying of his skills in cooking has by no means connected in the ongoing Palestine-Israel conflict. When you had decided to watch this drama, did you expect that the drama would aim to destroy their āobligatory serviceā to the army, given their hostile state with North Korea who have strengthened their military powe?. There are way more serious military and political dramas where you might insert yourself that the drama is not being sensitive to Palestine-Israel and yet you chose this drama wherein the ML just simply want to serve his obligation while learning and honing his cooking skills so he can help her mother after his duty with a dash of fantasy for his partā¦
Tbh i find koo kyo hwan handsome so it was win win by acting and visuals both
True but he is dressed like a beggar in this. I find him attractive too esp. in Once We Were Us the good times & esp grayscale ver. But people had been complaining about her āunattractiveā male leads for quite a while.
Now this is what we call an absolute cinema. Itās a masterpiece through and through. I donāt think Iāve…
Now that you mentioned it, I wish there were more scenes about Euna being the center of celebration but I think the power she had for Knock Knock Knock was evident of her influence on that project and her future since the CEO already knows the true identity of Yeonsil. Yet, I also wished for more scenes about that project as I am also curious how it would look like in big screen. Nevertheless, for me her success is best represented with her taking control of her emotions because what she initially thinks about her emotion when having nosebleed is self destruction and it seems she has been learning to manage when that emotion comes to her.
DM succeeded with his first movie, but we didn't see much about what happened with Eun A. Not much development…
She never wanted her identity to be revealed. She only told her half sister because they are basically BFFs atp. She wants to be successful and dont want her biological mom to take credit for her success at least publicly speaking.
What I had observed from this discussion of ratings and all is how some fans/supporters are sometimes the hindrances to their favoriteās career. There are people purposefully rating this drama low because GYJ is paired with a guy who is not as attractive and also older than her.
Tbh, I have watched most of her dramas and have enjoyed them (AOS, Moving, Resident Playbook) and yet this is the only drama where her character moved me. She knows to pick good dramas but her performance is weak compared to the dramaās success. (This reminds me about the issue about Miranās casting in projects that dont suit her, and incidentally GYJās character was the one who had critiqued about it). However in this drama, despite her lines isnt as long as dongman, I think she conveyed Eunaās character really well esp that board room meeting where she applies what her therapist taught her.
Also, imagine if they had casted someone younger and a more handsome actor to play Dongman, I dont think it would work. Byeona is supposedly to be an actressā daughter and also shining as DM would describe her. Dongman needs to be old enough that he has been long in the industry and have still not yet debuted and at the same time not so handsome that he will be given pretty privilege. He wont be THAT petty to be yapping and annoying people with his stories. Aside from the incongruity if that will be the new character, a handsome young man who still yaps about fighting his worthlessness, who would they cast?
TLDR, She is a perfect casting for this and so is Koo Kyo hwan.

Also everythings a meme but i love Seongjaeās graciaas the most.
