Berlin was going to die anyway he only had 3 months to live in the original that's the whole point of why he died he didn't sacrifice himself for the team he did it to go out on his own term and originally the show ended there in the first heist until Netflix bought the rights and made the other seasons

I feel like their adding elements of the later seasons but the first heist was 15 episodes and the second one was like 20 this show needed more then 12 episodes to really do the story justice cause right now it feels very rush and I cant imagine it getting better
