Now, I doubt if he is really a main lead. Is there a main lead who gets missing in action for 2 episodes? or should I say 3 because he wasn't introduced in episode 1

I know. I would've been convinced. They made Chilbong as a plot device until the last episode. He was such a pathetic and pitiful character ever in dramaland. They even gave him a girl in the last minute. It would've been better if they fixed Chilbong's story earlier.
Seriously I think that everyone should rate this drama fairly and not because of any ship...
I liked how they make parallelisms on 2012 scenes and past scenes in Reply 1997. Like the coffee scene in 2006 and when Shi won bought coffee on the reunion.
In reply 1994, it felt like they just revealed the scenes just like that.

I agree with you on that, but there's a saying that it doesn't matter how you started it, it only matters how you finish. The drama started out good but it fell down the rocks on the very end. And also, last impression is the most important thing in a drama.
In my unbiased point-of-view, the ending was rushed, and narratively speaking, the ending does not make sense. It was okay, but it could have been better.
I'm not hatin'. Just disappointed. I'm okay with NJ ending up with Trash, but it could have been a better drama if Chilbong was the husband. Or they could've done something between NJ and TRash relationship to make it believable enough. In my unbiased point-of-view, the buildup of NJ and Trash's relationship wasn't strong enough. I don't buy the fact that Trash stepped up on his game when there is a rival. Honestly, SCP and YJ has a better story.
if you were to choose only one, what would it be? reply 1997 or 1994?
Plot-wise, I'd go for 1994 because the plot was smart, to me, at least. It's more realistic for it tackles politics, economic situations, and so on. There were a lot of things to explore because of the characters and the conflicts. However, it wasn't well-written.I love the character developments here. SCP, HT, YJ, and B... all of them were justified. Unlike in Reply 1997, Sung Jae's character wasn't justified enough.
If I were to choose, I'd still pick 1997. Though the ending is quite predictable, it's something that I can watch over and over again without getting bored.
It was a close call for both of them. If 1994 weren't dragging, I would have chosen it.
it's not fair......i feel so bad for trash that i'm about to cry that doesn't make sense it all happends so fast…
Long Distance Relationships doesn't always work. Come on, it's the reality. If it worked, then congratulations.
Najung once said, "we were a special couple, but in the end we were also regular couple."
I also think I won't be convinced if Chilbong is the husband unless they show us that Najung became head over heels for him.
Right now, I'm leaving everything in the writer's hands. Are you perhaps wondering why they didn't show us what happened after Chilbong confessed to Najung? after the hug scene in Sampoong Dept store collapse? and most importantly, after Chilbong's second confession?
I trust PD-nim and Writer Lee. I remember how I shipped Haitai and Yoon Jin, and in just one episode, I was convinced by how Yoon Jin and Samcheonpo became a married couple.
Lol, I had a dream last night and it was so hilarious. I'm with my fellow forever Chilbong-Najung Shipper friend.…
I dreamt of Najung and Chilbong as well! In my dream, Mr. and Mrs. Kim Jae Joon lets me use their guest room. They toured me around their house and I saw Chilbong's sweater on the master bedroom. Yes, he is Kim Jae Joon and Mister Sung Na Jung on my dream :)
OH GOD. LOOK WHAT REPLY 1994 DID TO US. chingu-yah, we're not alone... Some NJ and CB shippers in soompi were also having dreams about R1994. hahaha
I think Trash proposed to Najeong after he watched Chilbong's interview. Proof? he doesn't have any scratches on his nose nor bandages on his arm while he was watching the TV.
I may be wrong, but if this is real, he's a coward. He feels threatened and insecure. That's not cool in relationships, by the way.
OMG! OMG! OMG! GUYSSSSSS Trash proposed to Na Jung on ep 17!!NOOOoooooo, my poor chilbongie :( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHuADp4_ifk
I agree with you. There's no mystery at all. This drama is slowly turning to a cliche drama. I also have a feeling that they are making some filler scenes for fan service, which is not good in my perspective.
In reply 1994, it felt like they just revealed the scenes just like that.
But I warn you chingu-yah, your decision can make you or break you. you'll see for yourself.
In my unbiased point-of-view, the ending was rushed, and narratively speaking, the ending does not make sense. It was okay, but it could have been better.
Sorry, this drama is such a big disappointment.

The drama hasn't concluded yet. :P
Do you think it sounds fishy? Why would they use a stand-in as tall as Chilbong?
They are hinting us that he is the husband.
Anyway, what I said on my comment was a CONDITIONAL statement. I know I may be wrong so I put an 'IF'.
But still, he got the girl already... why feel threatened? Like what @AngelaSaRang commented, he only moves forward when he feels threatened.
Sorry, if I offended you or something, but that's what I think about Trash. It's not that I hate him. I just don't like this side of him.
If that's the case, we will have Sung JOON (Ssuk Ssuk), Kim Dong JOON (Bing), Kim ___ JOON (Chilbong), and Kim ___ JOON (Trash).
I don't think Trash and Chilbong have the same name... Why would Najung call her husband, Kim Jae Joon, if there are two Jae Joons in the house?
