I get what you're saying, but I still think Hanuel's actions speak louder than her intentions. She might be hurt, but keeping Chanhyung around, texting him while having feelings for Jimin just doesn’t sit right with me. That’s not something I can fully brush off as 'cautious.' But I don’t think Hanuel deserves any hate either, infact I keep seeing people defend her or want more screentime for her. She's just a human, trying to figure out who she's compatible with. Jimin being sincere didn’t pressure Jeyeon at all, he gave her clarity. People kept saying he was pushing her but it was the edit that made it look that way. In reality his honest emotions gave her the sweetest little push.
She was already considering him, just unsure. His words didn’t overwhelm her, they validated her. She even said if she wasn’t thinking about him it would have felt like pressure but she was. And that conversation made her want to read his brown book again, to know him more. That’s not pressure, thats her heart getting the courage to open up for him.
It’s always a gamble. It could have been unwanted. But I’d rather be the person who tries than sit there quietly contemplating and passive the whole show. If Jimin never said anything he would have stayed a maybe in her mind. But he did. And now she’s all smiles and soft and giddy.
Hopefully this gives everyone a good kick in the rear to try with others because honestly it feels like most are stuck in their original pairs out of fear. Fear of pursuing the one they actually want or fear of just opening up. But look what happens when you do. They’re so kdrama coded it’s unreal. This is how the best rom-coms start.
