Second Couple Syndrome
This was another just okay series for me this year. It honestly had the potential to be really good, but the story just wasn’t cohesive enough to keep things tight and engaging. Some scenes dragged on or felt like they could’ve been made more interesting, which probably explains why the whole series felt longer than it needed to be. It’s a bit of a shame because you can clearly see the production spent money—the show looked expensive, and the cast actually had great chemistry. If only the flow of the story had been handled better. The acting, too, could’ve used a bit more depth in certain moments. The real saving grace, though? The second couple. They were genuinely adorable and brought a sweetness that made the wait for each episode worth it. Overall, it’s one of those shows where the potential was there but never fully realized. Still, I’d give it a 3.5/5 stars.
