Wow! If this is as epic as it sounds it should be fun to watch. ~~~~Yep, it was fun to watch. Less epic and more of a classic in the way of matinee fare during the golden era of movie theaters. Not so sure about Jin Xuan Yu as the designated ML. The A Class Prince? Much more of an ensemble cast and several deserve 'main role" status. I couldn't decide if some scenes were over staged to where they seemed overacted or vice versa. Although, everyone else almost literally seemed to pale next to the character of the poison wielding sister. She was so technicolor vivid that everything else seemed monochrome. However, justice prevails, redemption is possible, and the good guys get to triumph on more than one occasion.

Is there any role that Wang Nan can't totally own? Or character he can't make real? Respect. I've yet to see a performance that isn't a master class. Loved both female leads. Just something special about the way Zhu Mo Yan played her character. Managed "over the top" without over playing. (Reminds me of "The Princess's Counterattack")
I'd give this a solid 10. Everything that went into the drama was really well done. Think the wardrobe crew had fun? And then there were the leads' performances. So a sum of the parts..." thing.
