Amazing chemistry!
Let's be clear, this is not an action drama or even a cop drama. You're definitely in the wrong place if you're lookinf for that sort of action. However, this had a solid plot and electrifying chemistry. Is the mission non-sensical? Yes. But the show made it clear that this whole mission was a ruse for Bu Xing and Dou Ke Yi to stay in each other's lives anyways, by pretending to be in this never-ending cat and mouse game just because they can't be together but can't forget each other. It's not really logic defying to me since I've never taken the police or any law enforcement organization seriously anyways.
The plot isn't new - it uses romcom cliches, has a predictable plot, and world building is not a main focus. However the reason this series still works wonders are the actors and how they managed to make basic characters interesting due to great acting (huge shoutout to Nelson Ji) and incredible chemistry between the two male leads. I have to admit, the show was at its best during the first three quarter and the last quarter was a letdown, but even at its worst the leads pulled an outstanding performance and keeps me very much drawn to the series.
High rewatch value for me - this is a very easy watch and the actors are very solid!
