absolute snooze fest
nothing happens the first 16 eps. all the things we’re promised from the synopsis— enemies to lovers trope, heartwrenching angst, tricky politics, etc— doesn’t get fully delivered and when it does, it only happens when ure 30 eps in. and by then the show is basically over. i truly only stayed for how well cheng lei is acting his ass off, making his character actually entertaining. he quite literally hard carries this show. fl had no depth to her character whatsoever. this was truly so boringWas this review helpful to you?

you will enjoy this show much more if you view it objectively.
no this show isn’t bad, nor is the writing shit or made to seem like it’s “targeting” a specific character. a lot of these reviews are from a biased or poorly veiled self-insert viewpoint. this show provides us with real, raw, flawed, complex characters. if you are quick to take a side at the start, you will absolutely hate this show. if u take the mls side at the start, u are going to hate when the fl cheats. if u take fls side, u are going to hate that the ml doesn’t recognize her pain at the start. i would also recommend not listening to any of the comments on here and form ur own opinions as u watch, ive seen some of the dumbest takes+discourse online abt this show that is entirely possible of ruining ur watching experienceWas this review helpful to you?
