absolute snooze fest

nothing happens the first 16 eps. all the things we’re promised from the synopsis— enemies to lovers trope, heartwrenching angst, tricky politics, etc— doesn’t get fully delivered and when it does, it only happens when ure 30 eps in. and by then the show is basically over. i truly only stayed for how well cheng lei is acting his ass off, making his character actually entertaining. he quite literally hard carries this show. fl had no depth to her character whatsoever. this was truly so boring
