The only person that loves Dhevi unconditionally is her baby. Dhevi is evil.. sorry but she is, why would she…
Unconditional love is subjective when it comes to kids. That kid may not love her unconditionally, look up people going "no contact" with their parents. And in regard to Dhevi staying with a man that doesn't love her, human beings are not perfect especially when it comes to affairs of the heart. But I hear what you are saying. It's complex.
There is a valuable lesson being told with Dhevi and Kailert's story and that is: "Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it." And here's why:
10yrs ago Kailert made a deal with the devil. Although he was shocked when Dhevi revealed she was the one who "choose" him and not her father, he is a military man, a strategist and in that moment the pieces came together all at once. He made that deal not Naran or Trin. Give Dhevi what she wants (baby included) and he will live with the consequences. Trin and Naran will be safe from the mess he made. This is why I don't feel sad for him. Life is made of choices and there is no bargaining with the devil.
Now, in my opinion, Dhevi is not to be hated, she is to be pitied. If you have ever been tied to someone who you love but doesn't love you back, you'd understand her hell is hotter than his because although she has him in the physical sense, she will never have what she wants most, his heart.
We don't know how their story played out but from my experience as a mature woman who has lived, love and lost, when a body loses it's soul, it becomes a shell or a zombie. Dhevi may have been able to parade around a handsome, accomplished trophy husband and child but in those quiet moment when she is alone with only her thoughts to keep her company, she can't run from the truth that he doesn't love her. She is empty and even a child won't fill that void.
Kailert on the other hand has memories of his first love, his last love and his music to give him comfort. There is a saying: "It is better to have love and lost then to never have loved at all." Unless I misinterpreted his smile while playing the piano with Dhevi hovering by, his smile was for Naran and the memories she can't take from him. There are no winners in their story, just 2 people who made selfish choices.
Victor - Faced with an opportunity that Trin took by going to France. Trin - Embracing his sexuality and more tied to his roots. Not running from then like Lert. Tanwa - Making the same choice that Trin made with his French girlfriend Naran - He had the same choice to make as Lert (marrying money for career) and chose to be honest.
I'm wondering if this was intentional or am I overthinking it?
If you really really really want to HEAR how the story goes and ends, here is a link to parts of the book being converted to audio. https://youtu.be/NH5jkeS8ptM
I liked it....shrug...It's Mame and a couple with chemistry. Does it really need to be that deep? I'm just going to enjoy the ride and let you guys debate among yourselves.
A lot of people, including myself, are having a hard time with TopMew. For me the problem is that I come from a romantic novel reading background and the cardinal rule that all writers follow in that genre is to never write the ow (other woman) or om (other man) s3x scenes. It happens off page.
IMO I think I maybe could buy into Top and Mew's love story if had to only imagine Top and Ton together not ACTUALLY witness it. I wish it happened off screen. It wasn't hot or sexy but cold and calculated. The only thing it did was make me dislike the two.
I'm wonder if Boston only "bottoms" for Top? He seems to be more the predator than the prey and we know Top is…
I know that. My point is that in THIS series, we have yet to see Boston in that way except for Top. Maybe I should have phrased it in terms of Control, I think Top is the only person who he was willing to allow the so called dominate position (although I personally believe the bottom to just as powerful). Now that he's given up that power, he feels like Top owes him. Boston is a narcissist and imo, his place in their entanglement goes beyond just being jealous of Mew.
Okay here's the thing. Everyone knows that Boston is a 304. Especially his friend group. I've had friend groups with someone like Boston and if they ever thought to hook me up with "a friend", I'm asking "did ya'll hook-up?" And if I didn't ask, others in the group would. I know it would make for a very short, less dramatic series and I'll admit, boring, but I just wanted to point this out. Aside from all that I'm really enjoying this show.
as of 02/09/2023, my ranking of the main characters is:1. boston (favourite)2. mew3. sand4. chueam5. nick6. ray7.…
Okay, I'll play: Sand (the most honest, so far) Ray (I have a soft spot for a broken soul) Mew (I've been Mew, and it sucks!) Nick (There is more to him than meets the eye) Boston (He's a narcissist and dangerous...no bueno) Top (Fine AF! But since I've been Mew, I want to kick him in the nuts) Chueam (I'm being petty because I'd love to be her right now!)
Since everyone wants to write a dissertation about their theories and why they are valid, I'll add mine. It may be wishful thinking, but this script may have been written by someone who has experienced the complications of youth, love, relationships and friendships. For the sake of my argument, and I'm open to being wrong, (but I've lived a little), what if the show is what it is at face value? Why does everything have to have a twist or some dramatic drama? The storyline without the "nefarious innocent, the babe in the woods drunk, the misunderstood 304, etc" is enough to carry the day. I don't need all the extras. I guess, I'm boring like that. Again, I could be wrong but any event, I'm highly entertained.
Did you really read the manga? Because you missed the whole point of the story :) . Yes the reason is not special,…
I'm glad you clarified because the translation in the version I read was very confusing to say the least. But yes, this track. I sure they will make this clear in the series because although I'm glad someone took the time to translate, but for native English speakers it makes for a bad read.
This adaptation was a great interpretation of book 1! I loved every moment of it. I think I'll do a re-watch of Addicted for old time's sake. Thank goddess I've read both books so I'm only excited for season 2. (fingers crossed).
I continue to defend the idea that there is still no love relationship between Su Yu and Wu Bi, but rather a romance…
This series is tracking with the book. I've read both book 1 & 2 and Wu Bi has made it very clear to Su Yu from very early on (from the 1st sleep over at Su Yu's) that he is in love with him. The innuendos are spot on.
