He's basically actually carrying out his duties as a husband, finally that is, and so I think it's not that big of a deal to thank him at a success party because by that logic Lin Tao has also helped them out with the Cfo leaving and stuff.

I think they mean to say that a smart woman in those times would be the sort who quietly mentions her opinions but makes the men think they thought of it or sort of controls things in a hidden manner, almost so that the males around her, whether it be her father, brother, husband etc. think they were making the decisions and they had power but all while she was influencing them. I don't know if I'm really making sense but yeah 'Prisoner of Beauty' is def a really nice drama and good example of a strong woman.
