I am amazed by how well done this drama is made ! Great acting , amazing cinematography , brilliant yet realistic…
I love Ming Lan for the dialogues but it's rather serious. Whereas this is funny and have many LOL moments.

Very sweet to watch how far LBY goes to escort CSS and her family into the city. The director made it quite grand by having the soldiers line up to make a clear path. Just that act alone speaks volume about his affections for her and I like how they dwell on it more by having the parents question her about it and the emperor analyzing it with his eunuch.

I don't know if you're saying he did in TSOM, but for me it's not the case, i personnally think giving the script…
Within the Korean production, the only script that is bad IMO is Melting Me Softly. Even then, the premise sounded interesting but execution was bad. I don't see other bad scripts. Perhaps mediocre ones. Empress Ki, Healer, Suspicious Partner, Lovestruck, TSOM were great. K2 and Backstreet were not exceptional but were entertaining.

But it's because he chose to work on these wide genres that we see how versatile an actor he is. Much much better than those who play safe and only stick to one kind of role or character. Can I also add how much I love that he always make the effort to look different for each character?

I watched him in Long Ballad and liked him there. I thought his acting was great and he looked so handsome then.…
I don't see why it's not right to state my opinion. It's not like I'm being disrespectful or rude. Everyone interprets differently and I don't say yours is wrong just cos it differs from mine. Overall, I feel some of his expressions are a bit overt and it just looks like acting especially in the initial episodes. But it's getting better. Either I got used to it or he's just getting better.

Has Leo Wu previously played a complicated character similar like Ling Buyi in other dramas? I don't know, but…
I watched him in Long Ballad and liked him there. I thought his acting was great and he looked so handsome then. For this current role, I find his facial features a bit too hard and at times, a bit unnatural to me. But all in, he's still a great actor.

I stop visiting this trash site. Seriously, this blogger is only looking for hits and her site thrives on trashy reviews, rude comments, and discord. It will be better for people not to visit this toxic website as any extra view just helps them earn ad $

Personal opinion, but this drama (after watching the 6 episodes aired) gives me Story of Ming Lan vibes. I find…
Yes! I was reminded of the Story of Min Lan which I love. It's quite interesting to watch the family drama and I love CSS's thoughts. For a 14-year-old who is unschooled, she's very smart and has great insights. Unfortunately due to her upbringing, some of her thoughts are quite toxic too.

Sigh. I was so angry when I watched how the mom treated CSS. I wish I can shake CSS' mom by her shoulder and tell her, "you may not like your daughter's behavior, but you have to show her that you love her." I was ranting aloud about what a terrible mom she is when my teenage son heard and came to rub his nose against my sleeve...something he used to do when he was a child but hasn't done for a long time.

he's like.. 30 years old lol he's a spoiled manchild who doesn't respect women. I don't get how people are so…
I think it boils down to how he's being portrayed...mostly for comic relief...plus he's an open book and is not pretentious.

But at least they've redeemed YZ and she's now freed to be more likeable. Haha. She was a bit spoilt and diva-ish but to me, she wasn't detestable cos she's never evil. Like I said before, her problem was also caused by the lack of trust from the older girls. I like how ZHH openly warned her and she took heed of ZHH's warning rather than naively trusting a guy. That is girl power!

Is it just me or the last few episodes seemed much more boring to the rest of the drama so far? ig it’s bc of…
It's not as compelling to watch without the leads together but I quite like the story of the girls and Chipan. But not looking forward to ep 38 based on the trailer. Why why must they make it extra painful for us at the end? Can't they have more sweet and smart scenes?
On A Dream of Splendor Jun 20, 2022
SYZ is behaving like a diva. While I don't like her behavior now, I find the lack of proper communication amongst the women a problem. We love open communication in a boy-girl relationship but what about these girls? After all that they've gone through together, shouldn't they have more trust in one another? She may be young and a little spoilt but her heart is not in a bad place. They should have trusted her more.

Of course he is acting for money, that's his job. He will not do it for free...No seriously, why ? I'm curious…
Exactly what curve are you talking about?

Except for Melting, I enjoyed all his dramas post military. I thought Lovestruck was great but of course it is not for people who can't stand the interview format. Backstreet was questionable in terms of some controversial content for many but I enjoyed it too. And TSOM was excellent. I don't see how these were wasted opportunities.

I love JCW cos he dares to challenge himself to take on different roles passionately. I am his fan so I read most of his interviews. From my gut feel, one of the reasons JCW takes on scripts is cos of people he wants to work with and usually these are the directors or perhaps certain writers. I could be wrong.

I'm curious. What did you like about his shows pre Suspicious Partner? Healer was widely considered as one of his best if not his best project. Yet you graded Healer 1.0 so I really don't know what issues you have by putting up a sweeping statement about him and then trying to backtrack when asked. What is your motive?

Quite clearly you don't like him which is none of my business but to put an absolute statement like that is full of insinuations on his profile page when you don't even know him personally is so disrespectful to the artiste and an eyesore for his fans. Working for money is a given for all actors/actresses and for that matter, most, if not all professions.

At this point his drama selection prove that he's acting for money.
Wow, you sure know it all or are a great mind reader. But from the little that I know, acting for money is not a crime even if what you claim to know is true.

Very Popular domestically, not very internationally
It probably would be more popular internationally if it's available on Netflix.

The tea competition scene was ace in Ep 16! I love to learn about tea so the presentation of the art really impressed me. So interesting! Can someone explain to me why the FL clutched her hanky so tightly? What was the messaging here? Is it to show she's still nervous despite her cool facade? Cos I did find it a tad awkward.

Which are other Chinese dramas good rating this year.. I feel like not many good cdramas this year
Scores are mostly subjective. A few of the dramas I've enjoyed like Novoland Pearl Eclipse (2021) and Who Rules the World were rated poorly on Douban for various reasons. Those that are highly scored are usually not those I wanna watch. But yeah, I think there is a dearth of good C-dramas this year. The best one I've watched is Legally Romance and it's only 6.4 on Douban.
