In the original story, Adachi was way more annoying and stupid who can't do anything on his own. I prefer this…
the only way you can praise this show is by comparing it to one that came 4 years before it under very different conditions and when you actually hear legitimate criticism about how this show fails to capture basic messages from the manga you deflect with "oh hur hur but the jdrama fans are being annoying!" victim mentality. cope harder I guess.

notice how you mentioned the characterization of jdrama adachi when i was mostly referring to the manga which this show is claiming to be an adaptation of. except if you agree this is a cashgrab trying to piggyback off the jdrama's success then we're on the same page. i won't try to change your mind clearly if you like this show you want everything spelled out for you and can't appreciate the art of subtlety the jdrama and manga thrives on but i would love it if you stopped saying the "original adachi" when you're trying to praise achi when you don't even know who original adachi even is. also "character flaw" that never gets addressed or called out... i think not caring for your boyfriend's wellbeing and being passive af that long in the relationship with is actually indicative of you feel about him. original adachi would never and thats why this adaptation is a terrible interpretation of the manga.

When will this 'Thai ver vs Jp ver' / 'Achi vs Adachi' competition end? Please move on guys.
i mean you guys are straight up lying about the source material without even reading it so forgive me for wanting to dispel misinformation about a manga i like

this is such a bad faith interpretation of adachi lol at least adachi fought for their relationship and talked it out with kurosawa's mom, he made it up to kurosawa when their first date failed and was the one to initiate their physical relationship out of love for him. achi on the other hand let his boyfriend go back to the woman that harrassed him, watched her humiliate him and did nothing and when karan's mom disapproved he just let karan's sister handle it rather than protecting his boyfriend.

they literally dismissed my criticism for liking another cm adaptation so i'm dismissing theirs because by their logic they're not being objective because they liked another taynew show

i gave the 2020 drama a 10 because with what material it was given (1/3 of what this adaptation had to work with) it did a really good job and also stayed true to the manga's messages. this adaptation came out 3 years later, had been in the works for 2 and still managed to solely focus in the plots from the jdrama/movie (because thats the safest choice) and derail the messages from the original manga. you also have dark blue kiss in your list of "best" so im sure your opinion is also unbiased and not based on your love for taynew. we're all biased and you have to accept fans of the original story have as much right to criticize this show as much as taynew fans do 🤷

what are you talking about ? it’s so good, and what is “hetro” about this ??
it's literally going against messages of the original manga which i find a really stupid thing for an adaptation to do and adding a nonexistent heterosexual couple into an adaptation is just so lame
after watching the thai one i grew to appreciate this version even more because even if they had like less than half the material that the rest adaptations have they still managed to write a pretty solid adaptation that, even if not 100% loyal to the events, respected the source material and understood its core messages. the second half, the one that had little to no manga content to work with, is a bit lower quality than the strong first half but if you loved this even half as i did i strongly urge you to read the manga, even if you're not a manga person. it will give you the final piece of satisfaction that both jdrama and especially the thai drama were not able to convey as well as the manga does.

this one was so cute! totally reached for the sun by trying to adapt all 120 chapters but it could've gone way worse so i appreciate it for what it is.

This show is too much of a coward to admit it was a remake of a show made less than 4 years ago. Fans clung on the lie that it's a more "complete" and "faithful" adaptation of the manga yet, with the exception of a few scenes, completely followed the JDrama's(and its sequel movie's) writing and pace :/ If they had been up front about this being a remake of the jdrama I probably wouldn't have hated it as much. But as a fan of the manga before anything else it feels so dishonest to give me another live action adaptation so soon and then lie about it being only based on the manga when I can name all the JDrama plots and writing choices you used on each episode. Not to mention the only thing of substance that was added was an unecessary and badly written heterosexual plot of otherwise fan favorite characters (that could stand in their own but god forbid a woman exist outside the presence of a man) and an entire episode about the LI risking getting sexually harassed so he can save his relationship while the protagonist barely lift a finger... Genuinely thought whoever was involved in the writing of this secretly hated the original Cherry Magicand only relied on the jdrama out of fear the audience wouldn't watch otherwise... But even then, how do you miss the point of each story and character arc so badly almost every single episode.
