In the past KBS2 50 episode weekend dramas usually run about 66 minutes per episode. According to MDL the 36 episodes…
I love it
On Golden Rainbow Sep 26, 2024
OMG the 1st episode, the biological mom pissed me off, she wasted everyone’s time while they risked their life and her baby life to help her. That plot annoyed me too much for me to continue Lol.
To some it may be petty reason to drop it but I’m assuming the rest of the drama will have non sensical scenes

in articles they keep saying it will be a romcom, well I hope it will be more serious, most historical comedies…

honestly the vibe of this drama is like any other Korean "Melo"drama, emphasis on "Melo" for anyone hoping for cookie cutter sweet Korean drama and the acting is just as good as any other. I personally love melodramas so I have seen a lot of them. So far so good for me with the 1st few episodes.

I already know people will give this a low rating because of the male lead which sucks when the drama alone is good so far
Idk the full extent of Male Lead’s alleged crimes nor am I going to look it up nor do I want anyone’s dissertation to what they “think” is the truth unless they are the victim, South Korean police OR lawyers of said case.
I've seen Korea remove actors from other TV shows, right in the middle of the show, so... if that happens then so be it.

Save Me maybe, but this feels like it's in a league of its own with how great it was
On Pachinko Season 2 Sep 15, 2024
I saw Pachinko book at Barnes and Noble bookstore and read the 1st chapter in their coffee shop section. I've seen all Season 1 first btw.
Well.....I ended up purchasing it, the series is AMAZING but the book is much better, everything came to life through words in the best way possible.

80 minutes is too long for a 36 epsiodes drama it should be 35 minutes.
this is actually SHORT, for a weekend drama (Saturday/Sunday) for ex:
"The Young Lady and Gentleman"
"The Real Has Come!"
"I Have a Lover" are 50 episodes weekend dramas OVER 60 minutes

y'all is this good so far?
the only barrier is the humor, i personally find the cringey/slapstick humor funny

What?? They changed it to 20 episodes???? I thought they announced it's 12? What happened?
read an article that said JTBC had it at 12 but once Disney+ picked it up it went to 20 episodes and the episode running time will be shorter

My own opinion but This show went through a Production company, Producers, Writers, Directors, etc. the Actors/actresses consented or they could have declined to take on such a risque role. They also risked the backlash of viewers but yet the scenes were kept, it was released and they have rated it 18+ ......which means.....
"Scenes of murder, gore, and excessive violence are realistically or specifically depicted. Exposure of a part of the body, direct or implied sexual contact, or specific or explicit depiction of provocative expressions such as sexual acts"
There are a ton of Korean dramas produced every year of the same genre that don't have such scenes that the objectors can watch.
It's as simple as not watching this 1 drama out of the many other historical ones to choose from. Or waiting till your fav actor in this drama is casted in less explicit role.

Also just because Hollywood entertainment chooses to depict Americans in raunchy/no morals light does not mean that is how the General Public of Americans are.
I started watching K-Dramas because of less explicit content but I do not live in delulu land and believe South Koreans are as pure/innocent as their entertainment depicts them as in K-Dramas.
