That would be me boom totally called it... However I was totally thrown off my chair when I learned the boss had…
The boss thing was an actual surprise to me. Usually shows and stories telegraph their plot twits well ahead, a conspiratorial look here, a hidden smirk there. But I didn't pick up on anything from the police captain(?), had me shOOk
I completely agree with you. I usually wait until a drama nearing the last few weeks before I start it. . I hate…
And this is basically the crux of the problem. The behavior is usually out of character in some way and therefore doesn't really fit with the story. I always think of it as lazy writing where the writer needs some source of conflict but doesn't want to bother actually coming up with one that's true to the story/characters so far and will ultimately be resolved super easily and forgotten.
After finishing Ep 8: For the last four episodes or so, as Eun Gi has become more and more desperate, all my good will toward him has disappeared. You've known this woman for your entire lives, have been interested in her romantically for at least ten years, and done nothing about it. You don't get to be possessive. You missed your window, let it go bro. Same goes for Da In, a clear line has been drawn, if you can't meet Ryan without your feelings getting in the way of the friendship, then stop meeting him. You're only hurting yourself and making things difficult for the person you seem to think you love. That's not love, it's greed.
Huge sigh at the terrible advice from the otherwise delightful Seon Joo. Seriously girl, what are you saying? You can't be sure of someone's feelings without talking to them and having an honest, open conversation. See the second leads for where that gets you...
And finally, oh how I LOATHE the "big misunderstanding." Especially when it's instigated by a third party. And the talking over the person right as they are about to tell you something, (which the viewer knows would clear the misunderstanding entirely) is so maddeningly frustrating. Like, do people not listen when others speak anymore, they just assume they know what's going to be said and go off that? This is apparently how fiction wants us to think communication works.
This is why I don't normally live watch. Because with binge watching, when the BS fake hurdles come in I can just breeze through and get to the reconciliation. I genuinely don't know if I'm willing to wait for the lazy writing to resolve and get to the meat of the story. Which is a shame because there are actors here whom I really enjoy watching and I like the setting of the art museum. >deep beleaguered sigh<
So basically in ep 6 they get married. Please tell me I'm not the only one who saw all of the parallels. They exchange rings, they exchange vows, they go on an overnight vacation to the beach. Seriously. This was so in my face I kept thinking, these guys are still in high school right?
And then I got so massively confused with the fight that Mork picked. (And can he please stop overreacting all the time and have maybe a little faith in his BF?) I could have sworn he was telling Tee earlier that they can move slowly in the physical department of their relationship in order to reassure Tee because he was the one who was reluctant to go there. Basically saying I'll wait for you to be ready. And then Mork goes all nuts over Tee getting a box of condoms? What? Shouldn't he have been excited and making sure Tee was actually ready for that step? Cause I Mork was already gun ho for the sexy times. He's always been more sexually aggressive than Tee and in this episode he got a nose bleed from making out for crying out loud.
I have no clue at all why Mork's dad was so sure that Mork needs the leave school or what he was talking about when he said they'll come and get you. Basically I have no comprehension of what happened in the last 15 min of the episode. I can't help but wonder if it's a translation thing, or are there parts of the story that don't get uploaded for the GMM YouTube channel? Or maybe it's just poor adaptation from the novel. I saw a few comments on the episode saying that the scene at the snow village was written more explicitly in the book.
I don't know, but between my confusion, the rough around the edges acting, and the excessive fan service (which I get that some people are really here for and that's great, but not my thing) I'm having a hard time liking this show.
He talked about the female lead in A L S B and called her average looking, he had sex with lots of females and…
Thanks for the reply. It's reassuring (?) to know I didn't miss some massive thing when I was looking up the situation. I think I'm going to chalk my non-understanding of why this is a thing up to the fact that I'm American and older. From my perspective I can't work up more than an indifferent shrug. Maybe it's because I didn't have any investment in him or his character before reading all this. I was looking at the show page for A Love So Beautiful to try and figure out if I wanted to watch it or not and became distracted by the comments referencing a sex scandal.
I'm genuinely confused about this scandal. Admittedly, I only read like three articles, but it basically just sounds like he had sex and told his hook up that he didn't like being harassed by crazy fans and that his co-star in his show wasn't his cup of tea. Like, yeah, he seems a bit douchey, but no more so than any other kid in his mid 20's.
The only thing I could see being an issue was the drug bit, but he didn't seem to say he was going to do drugs just that there was a thing he had wanted to try that got classed as a drug and that was a bummer. The way it was worded made it sound like some sort of energy drink or food with and ingredient that was classed as a drug. Am I crazy? Did I miss something? Did he rape the hook up? Was she under age? I thought it was consensual and she was like 24 or something.
Honestly looking for enlightenment here as to why so many people are calling this guy trash and a massive d-bag etc., calling for the end of his career.
I ended up skipping most of the story between Porsche and Emma because I wasn't hugely sold on them as characters in the first season and then they just annoyed me in the second. Also, I was unashamedly here for Pik and Rome.
On that note, while I understand that Din was a selfish d-bag who deserved a swift kick, just because Pik was catfished doesn't excuse what he did. He was chatting with that chick (or so he thought) and meeting her for lunch thinking it was a real person who was interested in him all the while knowing he was leading poor Rome on. His intentions are still the problem, not how he was lead into revealing them. I was disappointed that that was never even glancingly talked about. He never offered an explanation. Even a lame one would have been something.
If I had been in Rome's shoes I would have dumped his ass and left it that way until real penitence had been sought. And maybe not even have taken him back then. (* ̄m ̄)
