I was looking at the production of sodium metal as used in Guardians of the Defeng. One method to produce metal sodium used salt crystals but using salt would run into the Government Monopoly on salt and the Salt Tax and Salt license. I wonder if a season 2 would use that theme. Wiki on Salt in Ancient China has some interesting entries on the Song Dynasty.

Yes, that has been done before. Even if not explained, the writer or director probably had someone in mind. We should look for someone with a jade finger ring.

True. I thought about my answer after I posted it. The motivation for the two could be anti-corruption, revenge or replacing the Emperor. For the second season, the story should again be using scenes and characters with in the confines of the scroll painting of Rainbow Bridge. Perhaps the painting is a composite so that events as portrayed are not simultaneous.

Do you mean the final scene in ep.24? The guy saying that his plan had failed was Su Zheng, the orderer? Then the other guy with the jade finger ring must be the Emperor.
Could have cleared up a few more loose ends. That jerk CEO. Why did the Nurse's old GF dump him. and a nice wedding scene. And will she stay a teacher or move on to something to take advantage of her talents as a leader?
Sorry. I don't really know, but my comment was made due to the fact that previously, episodes fpr other Fri/Sat dramas were pushed back because of the political turmoil in Korea. Anyway ep. 12 did come out. I'm happy at the ending.
Sodium metal is lighter than water so would float and it would turn round and round as the edges react to water and flames would appear until there might be an explosion. Even a large piece shouldn't sink.
