Episode 3:I Wouldn't Steal My Brother's Precious ThingsBrothers who love each other or brothers who hate each…
Jinghe at the memorial ep. 3 10:16 says that the Qingzhou civilians beseiged their camp. ie surrounded their camp. I believe that Mei Lin planned from the stone scene to reveal to him that she believed that he was innocent and intended to stab him but not fatally. She already had the information to make that decision, with the two false tokens, Jinghe's order to his bodyguard to sheath his sword in front of the chanting kids as well as all of that eavesdroppings that night at Jing's mansion. Baidu episode recap says that both tokens were fake. Seems to me that the one in the bridal dowry should have been real to be able to compare the two. Will start on ep. 4 now. Or in a bit errands to run for the Mrs.
Episode 3:I Wouldn't Steal My Brother's Precious ThingsBrothers who love each other or brothers who hate each…
He had poisoned Mei Lin with the Momai poison to implicate the defense minister, as I learned watching the rest of the episode. But at that point still watching the episode, I wondered why give her the poison if he and we understood that nothing would deter her. And even after she stabbed him, but deliberately not fatal, he dithered on whether to follow her plan and to save her. My comments are made as if I were viewing it for the first time and what the viewers might think at that time. So when we first meet Yue Qin, he seemed a credible love rival. I'm sure the writers wanted us to think so. But diehard shippers would never give him a second thought, save to give rise to our bile. I never wanted them to get together. Concerning the makeshift weapons used by the enraged Qingzhou rabble, you have a point. Riot control is very tricky and need extensive training and indoctrination for modern armies. Kent State anyone?
Episode 3:I Wouldn't Steal My Brother's Precious ThingsBrothers who love each other or brothers who hate each…
I also have no idea who Prince Jing was going to marry when he came back. When Zigu first hugged Yue Qin, why did they cut to the pond and lotus leaf? When the Princess first meets the Emperor she asks that he have a long reign. He would abdicate only four years later.
Episode 3:I Wouldn't Steal My Brother's Precious ThingsBrothers who love each other or brothers who hate each…
Even now, I have no answer on why the Empress suddenly died when she did. Was it grief that Jinghe was blamed for the fire and the deaths? Was it because of her advice to stay their swords against civilians? I always thought that the CP would have a more direct hand in her death. She strongly backed Prince Jing. I think that the CP became interested in Mei Lin because Jinghe was very interested in her, or rather that he suspects that she must be part of any plan that Jinghe has. He notes that Lianxiu, Jinghe's Mother's old maid now serves Jinghe. You can see him studying her face when he bids her to leave. And he gives a last look at Mei Lin's picture before he leaves. You can also see in their comments about taking care of Mother, moving to a warmer clime and letting each other win that what they say is the opposite of what they feel inside. That Gen Yang was splashed with an accelerant and burst into flames should have raised the cry why are civilians possessing it? Are they the true agents? Arrest them and the others. His comments about the Weibei Army not drawing swords against civilians sound nice, but sheathed swords make excellent clubs and would have deterred the mob, too. Was the Momai poison also to deter Jinghe's feelings about Mei Lin? No backing out at the last second? Introducing Yue Qin, and the Qingzhou Knot. Yue, compared with the cruel Jinghe, the writers would have us believe that he was the romance with her, that really wasn't.
At the beginning of ep. 3 we have Jinghe drunk painting a picture of a woman, back towards us, reaching towards a branch with blossoms. She has a dress with blue patterns and a white shawl. Someone grabs his hand and he responds, "Beauty" tries to kiss the hand. I wondered who the woman in the painting was. But 'Beauty' would indicate that it was Mei Lin and the kiss shows that by ep. 3, he had feelings for her, More than the gossip and our understanding of the character would indicate.
I find it interesting that four days after this drama finished, the comment section is still quite active. There is a divide on the ending, the storyline and that ending. Quite a number of recent comments express hesitation to continue or the watch the end. And others comment on feeling bored. Is this par for the course in other dramas with SE or OE?
I actually don’t get it. She knew why she was sent away but why she want to continue follow the other guy telling…
I believe that she sees that Yue Qin is good for his country and also for the stable relationship between the two kingdoms. That he is at risk if she abandons him at that point locks her in. Yue Qin introduced agricultural information from Yan and backed the trade between the two countries as a source of revenue. Food for the bellies and money to run the government. Unfortunately Xiyan was run by a warmongering fool and a self absorbed idiot. We see fools like that in many countries throughout history. A What If is that had she kept her martial arts skills, she could have taken out that General and perhaps even that King, saving countless innocent lives on both sides. She is kind of sidelined for the last few episodes.
Episode 2: I'm not afraid of fire, only of cold. Mei Lin says to Morung Jing He that the souls of Qingzhou will…
We seem to comment about different things which is good. I think that I will comment about scenes that moved me greatly because that is why I watch these dramas. Thank you.
Episode 2: I'm not afraid of fire, only of cold. Mei Lin says to Morung Jing He that the souls of Qingzhou will…
Mei Lin and Jinghe crawling on broken legs were kindred spirits forged from the same metal. Gen Jing of the Weibei Army started his campaign against the Xiyan in the 14th year of Zhaoming. A year to defeat the Xiyan Army and retake Qingzhou and then 10 years in exile. That should be about year 25, and a year for the events of the drama, Mei Lin dies after that so maybe year 26 or 27. The Emperor abdicated in the 29th year. Emperor Jinghe died in year 10 of the Zhenyuan era. Jinghe outlived Mei Lin by only about 12 or 13 years. Jinghe probably knew at his Mother's funeral that his brother was the agent of framing him for the massacre. Public spectacles and outlandish behavior probably allowed him to live rent free in his brother's mind.
Lol Don’t stop hereEven love game in eastern palace might be sad ending I heard cause FL might have to come…
You haven't stated this. So I hate to spoil it more. But in the second episode, around the 31:30 mark something the ML said or how he said it made think about your last scenario but upon re-watching it I didn't get the same feeling. I think that there could be a good reason for this but you have to start watching this to see if my hunch might be right.
You are right. I read I think that it was your your explanation earlier. For me, eye candies are those handsome and often pesky 2MLs that are better looking than the better actor MLs but who are not as attractive. They often get to do sexy things that the often mama loving chaste MLs can't do. lol Can you explain green tea again so I can save it without having to scroll down to look it up again? Thank you.
