They do play Kim Se Jeong as out of her time, but I think that it may be deliberate. That is the character that people enjoy. I do think that as the Crown Prince, she won't seem to have changed much. The ML won't have act like a typical female. Just my thoughts..The body swap is not for them to fall in love. That had already happened. The Crown Prince has a chance to think beyond his class and understand what his former wife told him about being a regent and his responsibility to his subjects, high born and low. Plus he will be be to to get an unvarnished view as less people will know about the body swap. I'm sure that people might monologue in front of him not knowing that its the Crown Prince. Ep. 3 and four made me pay more attention to this drama. Anyway. To each his or her own. Thank you.

He fell unconscious and dreamed. He dreamed that he was the original Lin Yan with no knowledge of the present. The FL and her family entered his dream. They retained their knowledge of the present. After the fire when she returned to the present, he continued the dream until he died of old age. But she also watched his whole life in the dream, but as an invisible bystander. She shared his loneliness because she could not comfort him. As written in her story Yong'an Diner in the last episode.

The adopted waitress that tried to save her from drowning had a child with Lin Yan's subordinate Liu Chang. That is their baby that he is holding in the last episode. The newly tightened regulations about time travel and reincarnation not only had them make it a dream but they made very clear that the past and present were not changed.

At the end of ep. 10 Rong Zelan collapses with the tetanus wound. Knocking over a tangerine with a green spot. In the next episode as she lays writhing in bed, the old physician is looking at a tangerine. I thought that we were seeing an early use of penicillin. But they didn't go there. Tetanus was also known as lockjaw, so the spitting of the blood shouldn't have happened. The ancient Chinese remedies focused on using herbal mixtures including insect and animal parts and botanicals to treat muscle stiffness, spasms and cleaning the woulds. Acupuncture was also used. Ancient Chinese also used mold but it seems not to be connected.

I suspect it's a no win situation. If she accepted him and trusted that he wouldn't change his mind then there wouldn't be any tension in their relationship. The middle part of Shadow Love, which I love, but some found boring, comes to mind.
And I think that some people forget her actions in rallying the Family and engineering the burial of the Father and Brothers and the release of Wei Yun. Nothing Wei Yun has done so far matches that. imho. The Fish Talley and crossbow mechanism showed that trust in her is parceled out as necessary. The former was to seek her intentions and the later came by accident, not deliberate. I love Xu Kai and Wei Yun, but am firmly in Team Chu Yu. Just my two cents. Thank you.

Ep. 10 Looks like the solution to fight tetanus is close at hand.

Rong Zelan is written as a very strong and strategic FL. I like that. Hope that Song Ling Xiao works with her as equals in the last half of this drama. The female often takes a back seat. I'm looking at you My Heroic Husband.

Hong Xiao and Yang Ze were the main couple in Blade's Dance With You (2024) I enjoyed Yang Ze in Please Remember Me (2024) and the Demon (2025) but they weren't as loved as The Killer is Also Romantic (2022) I've seen White Cat Legend (2024) and Rising With the Wind (2023) but don't remember Hong Xiao's role in them.

Ep. 7 I wish that she could rescue all of those orphans at that place.

The Emperor wants the Crown Prince who went into hiding killed. He was reported to be in the Xue Mansion. So the top assassin is sent to find him and kill him. If necessary she will kill everyone in the Family. She is married to the head of the Xue Family but before the ceremony can be held, the Father falls ill and is in a coma. The assassin had earlier moved next door as a merchant but the son saw through her and suspects her. Now it became a battle of cat and dog between the two. At the same time a rival assassin entered with the mission to kidnap the Crown Prince. The drama is like an old time cartoon like Wiley Coyote and the Roadrunner. But both are more evenly matched and the eventual romance between the son and stepmother is hinted at.
