The blue mark may not always be visible or could be at a spot not easily recognizable. Naksu's blue mark was in her eyes which is barely visible and is fading due to eye drops.

I have not seen Ever Night, but I have seen The Untamed and Ashes of Love and I see no similarity with those two at all, except I have to admit the scene where Jang Uk gets flogged reminded me of a similar scene in The Untamed when Wang YiBo's character Lan Wangji gets flogged. But that does not make it plagiarism.

I agree this show is mindblowing. So good. One of my favorite. One of the reasons for low score could be because of claims of Cultural appropriation and plagiarism from Chinese Wuxia films. Chinese netizens claimed that “Alchemy of Souls” copied the Chinese drama “Ever Night". It is argued that in terms of costume, character setting and plot, the Korean derivative is highly similar with "Ever Night", The Untamed and Ashes of Love, which netizens attached comparison photos and accused the drama of plagiarism.
