Thank you for your response. The reason I ask is that this orphan thing was a BIG deal in the Son Ye-Jin and Jung Hae In starring drama "Something in the Rain". The female lead's mom was vehemently opposed to the relationship because the male lead was an orphan and for the life in me I couldn't understand what the big deal was, so wanted some clarification on if it is a cultural thing.
Thats because a lot of international viewers don't have much exposure to Asian dramas to tell where this one sits…

I really enjoyed watching this show. It was so addictive. Definitely an episode turner. I typically can't stomach gore, so I was really surprised that I wasn't all that bothered by the gory scenes (except maybe one or two). I hope there is a Season 2, although I read online that the writer-director Hwang has no plans to write a sequel. Sigh.
