blueming is one of my favorite dramas of all time, it truly feels like a natural romance between nuanced people. i love rewatching it and seeing every little detail they put into those characters and the story itself, and i agree it explored well different family issues!

thai bl tends to go for quantity over quality, making a drama have 12 episodes that are 50min-long for a story that could be told in 8 eps. they tend to drag things too much and most complex plots get lost over time, especially with how they keep adhering to old tropes even if they promote the bl as a "brand new story". i lost patience for watching such long and nonsensical dramas a while ago, even if they seemed promising (an example is Last Twilight, i was loving it but after six episodes of ultra slow burn being solved with a kiss that ended up adding even more dragging afterwards, i was done)

they're such good movies!! i think people don't give them a chance cuz they're older, but i loved them so muchh

this drama is soo good. as a disabled person, it's nice to see representation that isn't based on pity and making you feel bad for the character >because< they have a disability, instead making you feel sorry for how the world treats kouhei. the issue is not his disability but the way people can't look past it, the isolation he goes through, the limitations people push on him because of their own assumptions at the same time they don't try to accommodate his needs

hii i'm not op but some of my personal favorite jpn bls are: kieta hatsukoi, cherry magic, our dining table, seven days and my beautiful man. most of these are fluff but touch some serious themes as well!
