Okay. After reading many of the comments, I'm still just smh! Comments ranging from "reality vs fiction," "love versus lust," "KP content vs VP content," and finally "black vs white" when trying to describe what's going on in this series.
Well, I'll tell you what I think is going on, "folks are being entertained!" Just from all of the comments alone, folks here on MDL seem to be getting a pretty good dose of entertainment. So much so, that some are philosophizing (or fantasizing, take your pick) on the KP and Vp relationships. THB, I really don't have a problem with folks doing the be fore mention things -- because for "all that it's worth," KinnPorsche is JUST A TV SHOW created to do what most tv shows do, entertain, and more importantly "advertise and sell the sponsors' products," and "KINN, PORSCHE, VEGAS, PETE, CHAY, and KIM" are ALL characters portrayed actors who are paid to "entertain" and help "sell the sponsors' products."
Whether you're into or not into any of the following: 1) romanticized rape/sexual assault, 2) torture, 3) victimization, 4) bdsm, 5) older/younger relationships, 6) betrayal, 7) Stockholm or Lima syndrome stories, or 8) any other non-traditional BL story, just remember this one thing -- the show is still meant to basically do two things, entertain you and get to notice (and hopely buy) the sponsors products.
So, if you like what's going on in KinnPorsche, watch, enjoy, comment on what you like or don't like and suffer through the many adds and commercials. LMFAO! Or, turn the channel, flip the switch, or use "Hey Google or Hey Siri" on your phone, ipad, or other device to change to another BL that is more to your liking, where you can watch, enjoy, comment or what you like or don't like and suffer through those BLs many add and commercials.... Still LMFAO!
These comments are more entertaining than the series!! Hahaha! Although, I have to agree with many of the posters. This series is hilariously not good! Now, I did NOT say it was "bad," I said it was NOT "good." LMFAO! But, now we have another BL series that has the mafia as a backrgound story. But, this one doesn't focus on rape, just BDSM... Hahaha! Wow! BLs hare moving up in the world. Now they're "trashy tv" just like non-BLs. I just can't stop laughing!!!!
Instead of Pete developing Stockholm Syndrome, it seems Vegas is the one developing Lima Syndrome 😂
TBH, I think you're both correct. Pete does appear to be developing Stockholm Syndrome, while Vegas is developing Lima Syndrome. That, in essence, could bring them together. Also, it's still kind of messy...a relationship built on two co-dependent psychological issues. It could also make for a very interesting story arc. Hmmm?
I like this series because it's light hearted. Yeah, it has a few of the same old tropes and lgbtq+ stereotypes (such as all the "taller" "older" boys personify the perceived "tops" and the "shorter" younger boys personifying the perceived "bottoms," typical in many, many Thai BLs. But, at least the series is entertaining and without much toxicity (at least in these early eps.).
I've not read the novel. But, I guess we'll find out the link between Porsche/Chay and the mafia family. As I previously thought (and still do) that someone in the Theerapanyakul Mafia family killed Porsche/Chay's parents. Likely suspects are either Mr. Korn, Tankul or Kim, with my guess being Kim (IDK why).
As far as the Vegas/Pete scenes in ep. 11, I'll defer my comments as I don't go for the "Victim falling in love with their abuser" trope.
P.S. Another poster reminded me of the timeline of the series. Therefore, I stand corrected and take Tankul and Kim out the suspect pool. LMBO! That leave Mr. Korn or someone else in the family.
So, is this going to simply be a knock-off of KinnPorsche, but with Yoon and Ton??? Hmmm! Well, at least BLs are finally starting to move away from the high school or university hijinx. At least these BLs tend to be more mature.
Again, totally agree, especially about the discrimination. But, the Thai BL genre "industry" has the unfortunate "bad" history of often simply playing to fanservice, discriminatory practices, using (and some cases abusing) its talents, and casting those same talents aside when no longer needed, and much for the sake of $$$.
Totally agree! But, if you're an actor looking for work, then your options (for good roles) may be limited. At some point, Earth won't have those boyish looks and may have to contend with more mature roles (as limited as they may be for him).
Possibly true. He is an actor and it IS a job. But, if he is worried about being typecast in the future, continuing to play such characters will do it.
