Legit felt like I was in limbo, repeating the same 2 episodes over and over again. Zero plot development, toxic ml character just forcing himself on fl AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN, and fl repeating the SAME LINES OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN each time it happened. Took the ml waaaaay too long to even tell his subordinate to investigate what happened to fl's family even tho she was straight up telling him why she hated him so many times. Felt like it should have been priority number one to solve so your girl doesn't hate/want to kill you anymore but idk i guess????????? Got to episode 13 and felt like I wanted to jump off a bridge from the insanity I was feeling. Dropped the drama once I finished episode 13. A shame because I liked the actors/actresses.
I can't believe this drama has an 8.7 rn. Should be max an 8. The main couple were so, SO amazing (I WILL be rewatching all of their scenes....multiple times <3), but the writing and production? SUCH a disappointment, this simply does not deserve a rating that high. That ending was so random and the story as a whole had so much more potential. I could say more, but others have already said enough below. I love Zhou Ye and the other actors too, but come on guys, don't ruin the rating system here just because you love them so much and want to love everything they're in. Or maybe you rated it higher because this drama is getting too much hate in your opinion. But that's due to its production and writing, not the actors/actresses, and it should be a signal to the director/writer that this is NOT acceptable, especially after such a long wait. I want to be able to trust mdl ratings. I understand the love for the main leads and other characters, but looking at this drama objectively as a whole, while I enjoyed a lot of it, it does not deserve an 8.7 rating imo.
Literally watched it all only because of Wang Rui Chang <3. Personally, his character was absolutely amazing, despite the dumpster fire LITERALLY EVERYTHING else in this drama was. As for the sound mixing.....it was one of the worst I've ever had to experience in my entire drama watching career. It was honestly wild how bad it was. XD
Absolutely LOVED the plot twist with everyone involved, but I'm just not satisfied with how the show addressed Li Qingyue being Hua Ruyue all along. I saw it coming with the fire power, but with how sincere Qingyue was when she insisted that she was her own person and how much I liked her character, I guess I just didn't like that Qingyue is just....gone? And it wasn't addressed at all? Maybe I missed something, but I really didn't see any indication that Qingyue was just pretending the whole time. Like, at all. And if she was something like a sleeper agent, I hope the upcoming episodes can address Qingyue and the sadness she must have felt having her existence denied the whole time. Idk, maybe I just got too attached to her character XD
