Actually it’s because YuNorth’s relationship hasn’t reached very intimate physical contact yet, even though…
Why do you think the first kiss is bad??? It was literally the cutest, so innocent and sweet. That little barrage of peck and sniff kisses was definitely adorable. Sure, the second one is debatable, but it's still appropriate and explainable based on story logic.
But I don’t agree when you said they lack intimacy. They actually have very natural pecks and hom (sniff kisses), like a realistic couple would. Also, how a kiss looks really depends on the director and the intimacy choreographer (yes that’s a real job). You can’t expect a deep kiss when it doesn’t fit their story progression and their personality. In the novel, YuNorth literally a slow burn couple compared to TimPai.
I kind of suspect the reason people think OhmPoon don’t have chemistry is because YuNorth’s story hasn’t really shown them as a “normal” couple yet, and their kisses are still at the peck level.
But for me, the idea that people judge actors’ chemistry based only on intimate scenes is kinda… funny. I mean, OhmPoon as a romcom pair like YuNorth are actually amazing, especially with how natural Poon is as this dumb yet lovable character. It feels effortless.
Now I kind of get why slow burn romcom stories aren’t that popular in BL series lately. A lot of the audience expect fast intimacy progression or foreshadowing from the couple, and if they don’t get it quickly, they immediately label it as “no chemistry.” 🙄
my personal opinion but ohm poon have zero chemistry, like i lwk need to run through their part on 2x. I thought…
This is my personal opinion too. The reason some of you don’t see their “chemistry” is because of how YuNorth’s story and relationship have progressed. It’s not like TimPai, who already have affectionate dynamics since they’re officially 'boyfriends'. Most of YuNorth’s scenes focus on their comedy antics and chaotic situations, and rarely on their intimacy as a couple. But with the way YuNorth’s relationship is written right now, it’s very likely we won’t see much intimacy from them for a while. And because of that, people will probably keep judging them as a “zero chemistry” couple. Meanwhile, their acting dynamics as a romcom pair are actually top notch.
“In short, I want them to stop focusing on the zero chemistry couple and just get on with JuMark already.”
Welp, sorry bb, but if that happens, the story will have massive plot holes, especially regarding TimPai’s future. At some point, TimPai truly rely on YuNorth, since YuNorth are already 'established' when TimPai are in 'trouble'. YuNorth’s relationship needs to be the focus in the early episodes, while TimPai will get major progression after the revelation of Tim’s identity.
I'm really loving Ohm and Poons chemistry!!! They are easily my favorite part of the show!! They are so cute together,…
Actually it’s because YuNorth’s relationship hasn’t reached very intimate physical contact yet, even though they’re already “married.” Plus, you know North’s personality is naive, borderline innocent. Not only that, all their situations fit better with “statue kissing,” aka just pecks, rather than deep kisses. Their first kiss was very cute, and it worked well. The second one was awkward and kind of stiff, but honestly it had to be awkward because North was still hesitant and confused about his own feelings. Yu didn’t go further because he knew North wasn’t fully consent. The third was obviously just a peck since it was a surprise and they were still in that awkward phase. For a couple like YuNorth, especially with North’s personality, that level of intimacy feels reasonable and appropriate. Poon is a good kisser, and Ohm already has experience with intimate scenes. So we just need to wait and see their performance when YuNorth finally reaches that level of intimacy.
Most people are annoyed by North, tbh that’s understandable. But personally, I like North’s existence in this series because he’s that kind of character who feels ridiculous, yet unfortunately does exist in real life... someone who can disrupt everything without actually being evil (I mean, without North’s shenanigans, TimPai’s marriage and Tim’s scamming plan would’ve gone a lot more smoothly. It wouldn’t be this chaotic lmao)
You’d (not exactly) be surprised at how some rich people can be the most stupid, childish, and reckless humans ever. North is basically the product of a spoiled but unsupervised child from a very wealthy family who (thankfully) didn’t grow up to be a criminal brat 😅 His parents passed away when he was very young, his grandfather babies him but rarely acts like a real parent, and Pai is more of a strict, unaffectionate older cousin. Because of that, North didn’t really develop a realistic life mindset and clearly craves affection. That’s why he thinks signing marriage papers and throwing a huge amount of money as dowry is “not a big deal” 🙃
I see him as a kind of euphemism for how rich people can do ridiculous things, but slightly toned down (since in real life, it’s usually tied to morally grey or straight-up criminal situations)
IMO, focusing on the YuNorth relationship in the early episodes while slightly pushing TimPai to the back was the perfect choice. Why? Because YuNorth’s relationship is the unexpected anomaly that throws off Tim’s scam plan and makes Pai’s marriage plan waver for a while, especially with how ridiculous the YuNorth situation is.
If the story focused too much on TimPai early on and made YuNorth just some unrelated side couple, it would definitely make the TimPai wedding journey boring. We wouldn’t get to see how Tim loses his composure, how he adjusts his plans, and the revelation arc would feel more detached. For me, the TimPai revelation arc has to feel emotional and grandiose.
And I predict that the mid to late episodes will focus more on TimPai’s situations and conflicts, while YuNorth will have more of a chill, mature-type journey. I really like this concept of showing different relationships growing in different ways.
Sorry but the fan services these two are doing looks so fake and cringe wtf
I thought it was very cringe too at first 😅😅, but after learning that they had been hanging out like very close friends for MONTHS under the radar before the announcement, and seeing how natural they act around each other without any cameras present.... I’m now very invested in them. It’s interesting, tho.... does this mean they had already planned to change the cast way before, or were they genuinely close friends before GMMTV suddenly had the idea, 'Hey, they look good together, let’s pair them up' and give Flukejee another project? 🤔🤔
