I don’t think the writer is trying to make us sympathize with her. Just another perspective. I don’t think TSM is going to be in YW life like that. She’s is already married & has her own son. TSM may be her biological mother but isn’t her mother.

This episode highlighted the necessary truth YW needed in order move forward from feeling abandon-longing for a mother & clear break from TSM. Because she has her father and that’s what matters.
