Good no nonsense comfort watch.
My favourite genre.... learning skillsss.I dont know how big the budget for this was,, but am so glad i found this in the great sea of over the top fantasy fairyland blah.
This was definitely a comfort watch. Really appreciated the straight forward storytelling ..tale of a fighters revenge
- minus the vomit formula of otp internal grief, jealousy of friends and romance, exaggerated villians.
I had no expectations, so not many complaints. The ending ... or rather the lack of one could have been a little more satisfying,

Finally something interesting.
Haven't finished this yet, but its a 8 for me at the moment just because ..After watching a few great ones, some commercial entertaining few and a wholeeeeeee lot of plagiarised disappointments... i am thankful for one that has yet to make me roll my eyes or irritate me with-
- with skinny waists and hairsprayed hair men ( just because they draw it like that doesn't mean you copy it completely)
- ugly translucent chiffon pastel costumes
- LOUD and screaming mothers, nannies or maids (
- ridiculously ear piercing OVER choreographed fantasy fight sound effects
- eye roll jealous sisters HELLOOOO some innovative creativity please?
China has SO much talent .. so KUDOS to the one who made this one happen.
A great ending would be a huge bonus, at the moment i i really hope the ending doesn't make me want to jump off a cliff.

Watchable..., if you have a memory of a goldfish.
General plot was not bad, liked the medicine magic, revenge plot palatable, fighting, - everything started off not bad at all.Also liked the set, colourful but not blinding.
Bothers - some bad CGI, over acting, .. WAY too long with not enough content.
They crammed about 30 episodes of filler nonsense which made most characters irritating and irrelevant at the end.
Mr Male lead, you were okay at first and almost pulled the 'cold emotionless whatever' off., but sadly, without enough depth, bad editing and too many episodes, you. ended up as a boring magazine cover block of stupid.
Is this the standard of television dramas? where they drag the airing out so much that they think the audience would not notice the rinse and repeats .. till you end up with bland teabag of crap?
I CANT.
One of the top examples of good plot start, overkill, nonsensical bad acting and dialogue.

How is this rated higher than story of MINGLAN????So upset to see it up there with the better ones that im giving it a big huge 1*
SUMMARY - KEEP IT SIMPLE or you'll fk it up
- they tried to do too much and killed a good one.
- A good base story and piece of art , destroyed by SCRIPTGPT fillers and nonsense unneccessary scenes.
- This piece is palatable i suppose, as i am doing a rewatch out of boredom.
1. Love most of the clothes

2. Love the showcase of Chinese Art, literature, Music

3. If you want to be funny and show silly amazed audience faces, then show don't BLEED and CRY in the same qin playing scene!!!! Make up your minds ffs.
4. Plot was good bad good bad... ok.. then mehhhh BLAAAH
- Focus on the 'DOUBLE' and reduce focus the pointless cliche dead general revenge son, jealous sister shite.
OVER RATED, OVER DONE, OVER DESIGNED, OVER THOUGHT, OVER THE TOP - OVERCOMPENSATING
I mostly prefer period pieces as for architecture, landscapes, history, art & literature. 'The Double' started off with so much potential .. but flaws and cracks just started rolling it downhill. Good effort, i hope they learn from it and stop going down the rabbit hole of bad exaggerated cliches.

A 7 or so. Definitely not a 8.3,
Tried twice to watch this.. . Nothing against the actors or actresses. Was really hoping there would be some serious Brocade action.. wth????MDL does a great job with drama descriptions but what is up with the ratings??? how is this a 8.3 ??? compared with others it's just OFF. Here's a 3 from me to keep things real around here. :P..
This drama is a 7.5 at Best.
