Why I rated it highly? Because of the emotions it wrung out from me. It was a rollercoaster ride of feels/emotions. Afterwards, I was left empty and wanting more.

Agree! The ending was appropriate for me. Life goes on. There was (awesome) romance but not the focal point. Its focus was the touching, thought provoking human drama. An underrated drama, for sure.
And... That's a wrap. Awesome drama. Great acting from veteran actors especially from Liu Yi Jun (Yang Fan). He was great in NiF, great here,too. Jin Dong, you're my guy.
What I like about this drama - There were no black and white characters. Conflicts were resolved asap. No grand yelling unlike the other medical drama I had dropped. Just some awesome acting by great actors. Sizzling chemistry between the leads. I want a season 2!!
