It's most probably not going to cover much of the novel. Just like they've done with Word of Honor and The Untamed, they probably came up with an entirely different plot so they can censor most of the stuff in the novel (especially the romance). So don't expect anything to be similar other than the names, tbh.
I don't know how people and this CAPA or whatever the fuck can even compare what he "did" (which, in my opinion, he did nothing wrong - what was he supposed to do, tell his friend to hold their wedding somewhere else?? And other prominent people in the entertainment industry visited the part of the shrine that he was in and nothing happened to him! Plus he was in the general public part, he wasn't in the politically sensitive part!) to what the likes of Kris Wu did. He did absolutely nothing wrong! I really hope he finds the justice he deserves and he can come back to the industry. I swear to god, they're trying to cancel him because Word of Honor got so much praise and is threatening to make changes to the way the society views same-sex romance. I can't even say that this is a conspiracy theory anymore, the government are literally clowning and exposing themselves!

Just my own opinion: If dangai drama are really banned and the censorship committee or whatever is banning any kind of man/man interaction whatsoever, even in bromance format, I don't see the need to continue this production. To me, this story is nothing without the relationship between Xie Lian and Hua Cheng. They could get away with toning it down in MDZS (The Untamed) because the secondary/overarching plot in both the novel and what they've done with the drama are good as a standalone story; I don't see any conceivable way that TGCF can be done justice without portraying the development of the relationship between HuaLian. Sure, the whole affair with the heavens and the Ghost Realm and Qi Rong and all that are interesting, but not as interesting as the development of the relationship between HuaLian. In fact, I can go so far as argue that it's so much more central to the story than, let's say, the relationship between WangXian or even WenZhou of Tian Ya Ke/Word of Honor, for example, that not including even a hint of it would be sacrilegious to the original story.
