On Helter Skelter Jan 15, 2020
Yesterday I watched Helter Skelter. Was expecting something around psychological genre with traumatising elements, but instead got many sex scenes and aesthetic cinematography (which clearly does not compensate to its plot).
I understand the concept of "darkness behind beauty", but can't omit the fact of how this movie manifests the fragile minds of beta males when seeing a beautiful woman being able to stand up on her own feet.
It's been a while since I noticed Jap people (producing movies & shows, at least) and weebs do prefer the "cute" and mentally fragile kind of women, and once it's something different like a woman presenting a pretty face and an independent personality, they don't miss the chance of making it seem like some sin, or some trap for others, while hiding behind it something ugly.
Really disliked the concept and characters, the twisted sex scenes are nothing disturbing to me honestly, if you want to impress me you have to show something new. Overall I just liked some visuals and the soundtrack, that's all.
Wasted 2 hours of time over something I was looking forward for years, given how people talk about this movie.
On I Saw the Devil Aug 19, 2019
To be honest, I didn't enjoy this movie at all. Really slow pacing.
Yet again, I think it wasn't made in order to entertain the watchers, but to open our eyes to reality.
I feel... drained, after watching it. Would have preferred a more dramatic ending scene though.
