i would rather watch hometown chachacha
very active, energetic show. the start reminded me a bit of hometown chachacha but the plot is a bit darker. the dad (sang tae) gets really annoying by the end.. but the ending is very good and brings it back a lot. though i don't remember much about this show, it's a bit forgettableWas this review helpful to you?

a very strong start but a somewhat disappointing end.
i love a school drama. i loved the start: the setting of 1998, the bookstore, the characters, their arcs, the interactions, the romance, everything. i felt like the latter half went a bit off the trail--i did take a break at this point so maybe i missed a lot--but the ending was a bit disappointing, also i felt that the flash-forwards to modern day hee do also didn't add anything. and i dislike timeskips a LOT, it feels like i don't know the characters at all anymorethe soundtrack does still gives me goosebumps. i miss the lead characters

forgettable
good. funny but i don't really remember much of it. i think this is a pseudo-sequel to hospital playlist which i haven't actually watched. i did get a bit bored watching it but eh. maybe if i watched hospital playlist i'd understand this a bit more. Was this review helpful to you?
forgettable
on paper the plot was good, but it could've been executed so much better. i genuinely don't remember watching this show, like even a week after. it wasn't really as memorable as the other stuff i've watched. but maybe i judge it too harshly. i loved the scenes in school and the story itself is cool and also the artwork is insanely good and the ending was neat. its just that none of it really stuck with me. (maybe because i relate too much to ji ung and have decided to block that from my mind). the music i very much did not like though. Was this review helpful to you?
nothing too special, but a nice watch
solid movie. i love shin eun soo and the love album was so sweet. the coffee prince reference i did not expect but i am very glad it's there (though i miss eun hye). i probably wouldnt rewatch the movie, but it's still decent. Was this review helpful to you?

one of the best slice of lifes
(mild spoilers)incredibly lighthearted, romantic, and one of my favourite slice of lifes. the per-episode plots are fun and you get to know all of the characters, and very funny too, especially hong du sik. every character is really fleshed out and the overall story is really nice. i'd love to see a continuation of the series, the cast feels like a full family by the end.

a really good legal drama
(my first drama)wyw is played VERY well, and the characters and interactions in general are written really well and are (usually) very likeable, the per-episode plots and the overall plot is very good, i loved their trip to jeju with the temples, etc. though i rewatched it again a year later and i realise the romance from wyw isn't that great.. maybe i shouldn't expect it to be.. but it's always a lower priority. the legal part of the drama is incredibly well written, and the episodes can be pretty heavy at times. if this was a slice of life it would probably be my #1 show. not my favourite but it's up there!

a slightly annoying but still great playful romance
(writing this a bit after i watched it)this is like the ORIGINAL 2521/weightlifting fairy/twinkling watermelon. its a fun watch, though annoying/repetitive at some times--they go back and forth constantly. however, the start is very funny and it ends very strongly. also episode 16 has my favourite sex scene ever. i am in love with their little crew at the coffee shop.

good if you like darker dramas
(mild spoiler)kind of cute and i was definitely hooked on the later episodes but. its not really my type of show. i like my shows lighthearted and funny and romantic and this was FAR too dark for me. the romance parts really annoyed me though... why does she like the guy thats constantly written as the most suspicious...
but if you like that sort then its good. i did want to see more cats though. AND the 2521 references are 10/10

battle of the bands meets weightlifting fairy meets time travel
after seeing this recommended for fans of 2521 and weightlifting fairy i had to find this somewhere and it was well worth itschool romance meets battle of the bands meets time travel meets some Dark subplot
the start of the show is pretty slow but it is WELL worth watching. its like they took weightlifting fairy and gave it a really weird twist that somehow works so well. i love choi hyun wook as a lead after seeing him in 2521 AND shin eun soo in general
timeskip finale is annoying. i hate timeskips. but everything before that is perfect. the timeplay is written really well and is surprisingly follow-able throughout. the song they write is good (but not the others really).

a work of art
genuinely beautiful. the cinematography, the pacing, the writing are works of art. so inspiring too.episode 1 is a tragedy and episode 2 is a romance comedy and the show takes a few more turns as ae sun grows up. it has everything. the latter half is a bit slower and details the struggles of growing up with parents that grew up in poverty but its such a heartwarming slice of life. i loved park bo gum in this too. i want the poem she writes for him somewhere in my life. my heart genuinely Hurted after finishing this.

a perfect school romance
this is i think the predecessor to 2521, my previous favourite show, but this is better. it has everything 2521 had and more, cool characters, a nice friend group, a fun romance, is funny, good sideplots, everything. i do wish jae-i was treated a bit better because he does get shafted a lot. And also the dogs i wanted to see more of. i found the ending a little disappointing, i feel like i wouldve easily watched 10 more episodes and the timeskip i didn't like much. AND i'm mad we never got the intro wink scene because that was cuteWas this review helpful to you?
the best slice of life ever
my favourite show of all time. i cannot stress this enough. there has never been another show made exactly for me and i am so glad i found thisit is the perfect slice of life slash school romance slash coming of age story and it would be my comfort show if i valued it any less than i do but it's so good and i respect it too much to Water it down by watching it constantly
i have zero bad comments about this. it was incredibly funny, and has some brilliant romance. i was originally team jung hwan (because. he's like me) but after getting to know taek they're perfect together (and i love park bo gum now).
and in general i hate timeskips but a single timeskip for the last 4 episodes is the best one i have seen yet. those episodes were really heartwarming and the finale was heartbreaking. it's still in my head a year later. the ost was perfect and still gives me goosebumps.

if you are thinking of trying a historical drama THIS IS WORTH IT
REALLY GOOD.my first historical drama, and weird that i watched this unprovoked right after coffee prince. very very funny, i love park bo gum as the ML and the FL. there's rarely any dead air, the pacing is great--except the ending felt a bit rushed and the closure was a bit meh. but really good either way.
