I need to rewatch those episodes, and while I could have also done without that plotline -- I disagree that is…
Well, there is a mild propaganda in the sense that there is no way they would not let this pregnancy happen, specially with the current low birth rates in China.
The fans want the studio to do something and start suing the trash that keeps denigrating his dramas and bullying him. It was like this when Under the Skin 2 was airing too. I hope these people that don’t leave him alone never know peace.
I disagree, but I loved the characters and found the themes engaging. What exactly would you like Tang Qi to do…
To sum it up, in true Tong Hua fashion, these people are usually filled with issues. Always the misunderstandings or the anger issues or the usual bonding through trauma. We even got an unwanted pregnancy this time. Heavy stuff. I’ll try Scarlet Heart’s kdrama version now that it’s back on Viki.

I think people have complained about this more than once because it verges a little bit into cruelty territory - making others feel gaslit and thinking they’re losing their minds is not something most people would laugh about, even those who like a bit of dark humor - and in a span of less than an episode it’s all solved as if it were merely a little misunderstanding or something innocuous of that sort. Either it was much ado about nothing and Tang Qi was being overly dramatic when he shouldn’t, or it really was something serious enough to the point it was affecting his health (mental and physical). The drama seemed to have treated it as something serious. The excuse was that it wasn’t her intention and that it he brought it upon himself. Eh.
But it’s a good point you make. What would be the ideal resolution? I have no idea, but other than making sure this character has a happy ending for plot reasons and maybe censorship reasons too, I personally don’t see how any of that is believable, and I say that about a drama with alpacas and magic bracelets. A bracelet that unfortunately never got proper explanation either.
I get the message of loving yourself for who you are but damn, must we torture others along the way (specially those we like) to finally tear down all the filters? :3
