How are you guys looking past the whole cousin thing?? Even if they weren’t blood related it would be strange…
BRO, in most parts of the world, you can marry your cousin. You can marry your cousins in Middle East, South Asia (like South India), North Africa, Southeast Asia (Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand), Latin America, Australia, Canada, and most of Europe (UK, France, Germany, Spain, Russia), and many states in United States.
Please tell me this is not incest?…Please confirm🥹😢😭
depends on your defintion of incest. They are cousins; they share the same grandparents. Cousins have been marrying each other for centuries. All the european and Japanese royal families, Charles Darwin, Edgar Allan Poe, HG Wells, Jerry Lee Lewis, Albert Einstein, Saddem Hussein, Li Ka Sheng (richest man in HK).
It’d make far more sense for the Jeong cousins to be connected by Jeong In’s MOTHER since otherwise In Jo…
oh god. STOP. JUST STOP. you don't udnerstand asian culture. It's not a HONOURING thing. It's a generational, traditional thing. Boys in the same generation will have the same name. And then the next generation will have a different name, and so on. For example, first generation males have BO in their names. Second generation boys will have Seong in their names. Third generation will have JEONG in their names. It has NOTHING to do with the western convention of naming after your ancestors. In Asia, the names are DIFFERENT from your anscestors. STOP USING WESTERN PERSPECTIVE to look at ASIAN CULTURES.
This is Thundercloud Rainstorm on speed. ps: read a comment saying they are step-brothers. THEY ARE NOT. They are HALF-brothers. They have the same mother.
I really don’t understand why people are finding it so hard to understand the cousin thing. Jeong in and il Jo are HALF Brothers, not step brother. They have the same father, different mothers. (This is in MDL synopsis. Read it!)
Jeong in and Jeong Han are cousins. Note the “Jeong”. It’s common for cousins of the same generation to have one same name.
That means Jeong In’s (and Il Jo’s) father and Jeong Han’s father are brothers.
That means Il Jo and Jeong Han are cousins. They are blood related. They have the same grandparents.
Grandparents (first generation ) | Jeong in and il Jo dad — Jeong Han dad (brothers) (second generation) | Jeong in / il Jo (brothers) +++++++ Jeong Han (3 gen)
I usually hate GMM’s middle episodes where the couple is lovey dovey but doesn’t move the narrative; it shows a lack of substance. But Me and Thee is different. It’s fun enough to me to overlook the lack of plot.
They are blood related. They have the same grandparents. that's why they can't be together.
Read the damn synopsis. HALF brothers, not step brothers. Jeong in and il Jo have the same father. Jeong in, Jeong Han, Il Jo have the same grandparents
Can we take a moment to appreciate how brave and full of integrity Kano is? If it were me, I’d choose to remain in the happy world. But he has the integrity to go back to the unhappy world to fix things.
