I am rewatching and I just realized something lol spoiler below
I just realized the last part (drawing) of the intro was them before their deaths. Qian Zhao (fighting scene), Sun Lang (using his weapon to help Shisan) and look at the arrows in the drawing, Shisan (covered eyes before his last fight), Yuan Lu (running position bc he exhausted everything to send the message), Ning Yuan Zhou (kneeling position, his last scene) and Ru Yi (last battle before her assassinating the enemies). The last drawing in the intro already foretold the ending, how sly is this drama 🤔 lol hahahaha but I'm gonna rewatch, pain all over again
I have finished the drama but wanted to take some time to calm before I comment here. I have been watching cdramas for years (more on wuxia/xianxia genre) so I had fair shares of dramas with sad endings. But this one really hit me hard. Besides historical dramas, I also like slice of life genre which means drama that includes things like friendship, romance and here including politics. So finding this drama is like a gem. To be honest, with the tone of this drama and how they made us fall in love with the characters, I already got scared that this will end up as a sad ending. I just don't want to accept it bc I really like all of them 🥺 First off, even though it ended not really what the fans wanted, I can say that this is still a really well made drama (but scriptwriter why are u so bloodthirsty lol). My view of how good this drama didn't change. Lots of growth happened towards the end of drama which I hope some viewers could still see despite the sad ending. The young ones, Yang Ying, Tong Guang and Chu Yue's contribution towards the end had such a huge impact and is a commendable growth from being a weak princess, an obsessed & stubborn disciple and a hot tempered princess.
As for my beloved characters, the leads although they didn't end up happy found themselves along the way, along this Journey. They found true love. Their sacrifices and willingness to be together, their understandings and similarities really made them a perfect couple. For the most loved gang, their brotherhood is really top notch. The loyalty and love for each other is there. Imagine Yuan Lu, doing everything he can to run fast for Shisan while Shisan made him go away to save him. Qian Zhao and Sun Lang (man I cried hard when Sun Lang said he wanted to touch something fluffy, I ugly cried like hell), their sacrifices towards peace regardless of how mad Qian Zhao was towards the emperor, he still chose peace and everyone over his own agenda. The Wu emperor who fought alongside with them (what a growth right?!) not minding his death and even leaving his will for the benefit of his country and not for personal agenda (like only leaving the throne to his child bc he doesn't like his brother). The prime minister and the Wu empress who stepped down from the battle of politics to prioritize peace and the wellness of the people. And so much more. Deng Hui, who have also joined in the battle for his loyalty to his country and people. You see how many people have changed and have goodness stilled in their hearts towards the end bc they knew that peace and the people, the bigger picture is more important. (So yes, I really hate the 2nd prince of An and the An emperor)
Yes, it was such a huge sacrifice but a high price to achieve peace. If peace can only happen easily, the world would have been such a better place. Anyway, it was an amazing drama full of love, friendship and has displayed such great strength for each character. Very well made characters, great cinematography, good fighting scenes, and amazing OST!! Can I just say how I love the intro song by Liuning 👏 Overall such a great drama, a real great ender for year 2023. I hope this drama gets popular and that people wouldn't mind too much of the sad ending but rather the journey they had that made it such a good drama. It's title was really a journey (to death) lol hahaha it's really a journey that has taught us and made us felt like we were with them 😊
I don't know how I can start another one. I usually have an ongoing drama (or a next drama) with me but idk it feels heavy to watch something, maybe in a few days lol also reason I'm okay with sad endings with these type of dramas bc I do kind of relate what I watch in some reality like in life, there will be up and downs, there will be deaths and there will be goodbyes 😅
If some of you will be asking if this is worth to watch despite the ending, YES it still is 😊
I'm still stuck at ep 35, I can't continue so I'm just gonna comment. I cried how many times in just 1 ep. And as I saw in other comments it will be like that til the end 😭 I'm okay with some sad endings but Six Realm Hall has been close to my heart, like I would even rewatch their scenes.
Will they drop an express for this? Usually it's a 6 ep package right so it means if they do, all eps should be out bc I can't wait anymore lol I don't want to wait for pain, i can smell sadness 😭😭😭
I'm on episode 17, obviously still far behind. I'm still liking it, although I've come to realize the story tone…
Maybe she'll grow on you in time 😊 I believe LSS perfectly fits the role. As for the actresses you said, as much as I think Zhao Lusi is versatile, she wouldn't fit this role along with other rising actresses like Bai Lu, Yu Shuxin and some others because they still kind of have this cutesy sweet side not fit for a femme fatale mature role like an assassin. Even popular actresses like Yang Zi and Dilreba, I don't think this will suit them. They can play strong female characters but I don't think it suits for them to play female assassin type (No hate for this, just an opinion bc I like all the actresses I have mentioned). The actresses I felt that may suit this role would be Liu Yifei, Zhao Liying, Yang Mi and ofc Liu Shishi. So this definitely fits Liu Shishi and this is the first time I've watched a drama of her, she gave me a great impression. As for the CP, altho it is important, I sometimes don't care that much if it's not annoying (to the point that they really don't have chemistry) so my focus is more on the story plot and the characters story. But yeah, I hope you would eventually love LSS in this drama 😊
So let me guess - we are next going to be asked to believe someone conveniently happens to have a right side heart?
what I think is they'll maybe come up with something like deng hui angled the knife to a part where the heart and vital points won't get damaged a lot like the ones they did during the strangling scene 😅
I was this 🤏 close to really hating LTG if anything happens to YSS. As much as I love this drama, I would really hate it if something happens with NYZ brothers 😢 I hope the next eps will somehow let LTG grow, he and the princess he would be wed needs to have their own arc now. The princess wasn't even shown a lot. Enough of the obsessive behavior. LTG in general dreams of peace and a place with no war. He respects loyalty and brotherhood so I hope they gave him his own arc apart from his obsessiveness now. People already get it why he is like that, he was lacking of love and care when he was a child so I hope he already grew from that.
Also, gosh I love YL and YY. But I also loved what YL said. YY can be anything she would like to be more than just a princess. I hope the story continues to be better (ofc it's really good now) just don't want it to be halfway suddenly disappointing but yeah it seems it wouldn't so here I am waiting for the next eps again days from now 🥺 willing to wait!!!
I'm guessing NYZ's undercover job before has something to do with brothel bc during the time they talk about Jinsha House, there was like a line about him being in there a lot or QZ idk lol but being a White Sparrow would really be a ridiculous and funny option 😂 This drama is so mesmerizing. I'm just so glad finding this one. Up until this recent episode, I truly enjoyed everything. I want to finish the drama first before I gave out all my review but this is for the mid-show, if anyone is thinking if this is worth to watch, THEN YES, DEFINITELY. I have watched tons of xianxia/wuxia, and this is one of the dramas that I could say has been really well made from it's story plot to the characters. The characters have great chemistry may it be romance or the friendships. Just sometimes, the camera lol it seems fast and shaky but nonetheless affect the whole drama so I really don't mind.
Hope to see more of our YY and the gang lol also hope LTG grew up more (I always feel he just doesn't know how to place his admiration and it became an obsession due to the sudden loss of his master) but his ideals of peace and to stop war, well he is not a lost case after all
Just finished the first episode and, to be honest, it was extremely boring. Is the series worth sticking with?
As I read your comment, I saw you compared this with MJTY. However, this one is not similar to that. MJTY is more dark (in settings and plot) while in this, even though the female leads are both assassins, this one has a lighter sense. Some casts and some plots are even funny (I know that one jie jie is also funny in MJTY) but here even Yu Shi San alone is funny, what more the other casts. The drama characters are also given more emotional depth in this drama. There is growth in characters. While the plot seems long (but nevertheless for me not boring at all) bc it is a whole journey to An, isn't it also like the title of this drama, A Journey to Love as both leads come to find themselves in love too during this whole trip. Anyway, this drama has great fighting scenes too. So yes, definitely worth watching. If you still find it boring then I guess it's not really your cup of tea and that you might want to find some darker kind of cdrama 😊
I haven't seen the calendar. Anyone can tell when does this air (like what days?) and also since I'm watching on a different app that airs this (Viu) anyone knows where I can watch the teasers for next ep? thanks a lot
I'm still on ep 14, found the app which have this drama bc it's not on iQiyi and let me just say, I absolutely love the cast and acting. I enjoy everything esp Yu Shi San 🤣 I have watched some of Alen Fang's drama but he is so hilarious here lol I just wanna comment on that. Gonna come back here after I finish the latest ep (so I won't get myself accidentally spoiled 😅)
I knew it! When I saw her at SOKP I thought she looked familiar so my first thought was she was in some cdramas I've watched. Turns out she was a former Gugudan member (Kpop group). She's so pretty 🔥 hope to see her in other cdrama
One For Love is only worth to watch if you are Dylan or Bailu's diehard fans. lol
Yes, it's why I like historical genre more bc of the plot. Romcoms are simple and easy to digest lol I usually watch them after a heavy drama just to balance. I've watched that one! I love the leads tho 😅 If I want a modern drama, I usually like story lines with slice of life genre rather than pure romcom

Okay now time to heal our hearts 😂
