She is really pretty. I am surprised she doesn't have more roles. When I first saw her in I Hear You, she reminded me of the actress that played Ya Ting in My Youth, Wu Shuang Yi.
A lot of thing surprise me as far as the relative popularity in China vs overseas. I mean, Maggie Jiang who guest…
For sure she would have a western following as well, from King's Avatar being on Netflix - I am a big fan of how she was able to pull off the girlish Chen Guo at her age - but obviously her mainland following is much greater and might be a small part of the reason why Crime Crackdown was able to get off to a strong start with big early numbers. For non-mainland people who haven't had access to her big hits, they just might not be aware that she is truly a big star is all I was getting at.
Came to see the drama that got 2 Billion views and that's sus. I don't mean to undermine the drama but never heard…
A lot of thing surprise me as far as the relative popularity in China vs overseas. I mean, Maggie Jiang who guest starred in a couple of the early eps has double the Weibo following of "western popular" FLs like Fair Xing or Shen Yue. She would bring in a lot of viewers.
It's ok, although with a couple of issues that may or may not affect your enjoyment. 1. A lot of time is spent in-game in the video game, time which could have otherwise been spent to build up the real-world relationships. I know it is the focus of the story but it kind of makes everyone feel somewhat shallow. 2. Yang Yang's voice is totally different from Love020, if that is your most likely prior viewing experience. A bit disconcerting for me for sure, the switch from romantic baritone.
I can't find Epi 4 & 5 Eng sub!! Can someone help me??
On Youtube, Youku North America channel has the subbed episodes (including 4 now, and 5 to be released tomorrow) released faster than the main Youku or Youku English channels.
She was called out, because only she know who was on video, so teacher want she say who it was, in video were…
"I didn't get what the problem was, maybe its amoral kiss in university or something."
I took it that the video was edited to encourage a lewd interpretation for when the cheerleader crouching down to pick up her book in front of her boyfriend. Like maybe she was crouching down for something inappropriate.
I really like Shen Yue's natural looking make-up in this. The first 4 episodes are great but if it's really only 24 eps in total, I don't know how they will fit in meaningful story arcs with highs and lows for everyone. I guess the dorm being the main setting will help the characters and storylines progress together.
For dramas listed under "school" and "youth", this certainly has a very sombre-tone through the first 5 episodes. The FL has a definite charisma and appeal but I don't know that it is strong enough to pull me along for the full ride. If you are flipping through contemporary set C-Dramas available on Netflix, this would definitely be the one that's most "not like the others" if your watch history a bunch of popular rom-coms like Love 020, ALSB and PYHOMS.
I liked the ML and FML chemistry. Good thing it was prominent throughout because I was definitely fast-forwarding through the parts where the secondary character arcs omitted them. It is really a testament to the strength of the main romance that I still have an overall positive sentiment towards this show and recommend it, despite the weak ending and the show being overlong as a whole.
My favorite asian drama so far. Shen Yue does a great job at bringing the youthful enthusiasm of FL Chen Xiao Xi to life. It's over the top but also believable and very endearing. Definitely made me a fan! I don't really get the appeal of ML Jiang Chen (especially compared with SML Wu Bo Song) but finally melting the icy-cold heart of the love interest I guess is fine for a SOL/Rom-Com plot.
