Delighted because they didn't use force Happy Ending in here.
I watched this since i like Lan Bo and Lu Lu Lu first collaboration and this was also still decent for my liking.
I always think from the FL's perspective, so everything the FL does is reasonable. You can feel that the FL doesn't have much affection for the male lead. She is a merchant's daughter with nowhere else to turn, and can only temporarily rely on the ML for the sake of her younger brother. FL always had a clear idea of what she wanted: neither becoming a concubine nor marrying ML.
It focuses on the plot and rarely depicts the romance between ML and FL; intimate scenes are not a priority. In this storyline, FL doesn't love the ML or rather, doesn't love him enough. She only wants a peaceful life, which the ML simply cannot provide FL needs.
Plot is well-developed, romance is minimum, and the tragic ending is reasonable. However, everyone who dislike tragic endings and only enjoy sweet romance should not watch it.
