Lin Fensong acting was on point.
Okay I watched few Song Amnesia Yuanye version but i quite like Lin Fensong one I surprised on Bai Ye acting since most of her drama were quite underwhelming but both leads got decent chemistry. Her potrayal of FL was not over to top and shown her insecurities which kind of rare on other version. The kissing scenes are absolutely stunning. There's no melodrama, no angst, and no manipulative green tea bitches—it's a sweet drama that's incredibly addictive.
The charm of a good screenwriter lies in their ability to bring different appeal to the same plot. I want to search this scriptwriter other works since she/he write this story more plausible to watch.
One thing I really like about this drama is FL's departure from the SML and her subsequent love for the ML are predictable and not at all abrupt. It's the SML's cowardice, SML mother's domineering and manipulative behavior, the family's disrespect and contempt for FL, and his possessiveness towards her as a perfect commodity that make her realize their problems are irreconcilable, making a decisive separation inevitable. She did try to give this relationship, which she thought she had loved for years, a happy ending, but she still lost to incompatible souls . She fell in love with ML slowly while she already let go her past relationship.
This version of Song Yuanye has a perfectly balanced twisted quality during the early stages of their ambiguous, tug-of-war. He's clearly a villain, yet he possesses a unique and devoted love for the female lead, making him both deeply affectionate and captivating. ML loved her "imperfections" even more. A kiss on her imperfect ballerina feet, which she thought was embarrassing but was actually her pride, shattered the last line of defense she had always held. Her soul was touched, and she fell completely in love with him, even before she remembered him as the lover who had given her such passionate feelings. ML's physical attraction was really evident; loving someone can indeed be acted out. Lin Fensong nailed on this ambiance situation.
The only downside was that the memory recovery at the end felt a bit rushed, but that doesn't detract from the overall quality. It's definitely worth watching.
