I just started rewatching this again and if I didn't know it was a romantic drama I would have thought it was more horror thriller because watching Dr He kinda monitoring her and asking around about her even the creepy smile he gives when he sees her leave is honestly hair raising 😭.BTW I'm just 22 minutes into episode one 😂. if this had a more spooky background track it certainly wouldn't give romantic vibes at all😂😂😂

also from my understanding there are mountainous villages in china where the female child is treated beneath the male children and where it's difficult for them to access good education because of patriarchy, why don't they go there and film some scenes but because Africa has become the "waste bin" of things like these, the people involved see no problems in continuing these stereotypes and that is the problem. This unintentional racism that is coming into play is the problem, why ??
