Ren Xianya

Can anyone tell me what happened on the 11th ep? Why did the leads suddenly being out of town and staying in a hotel room, and the ice cream scene afterwards? Then to be back to their homes and the male lead acted like he didn't have any courage to confess?
Am I missing something on the previous ep?
