Nope. Zhong Ling and Mu Wan Qing left a few eps earlier and never returned. Duan Yu only ends up with Wang Yu Yan in this version.

He came out with an apology letter apologizing for his bad behavior and is suspending all activities, so he is pretty much admitting guilt.

My goodness there are way too many cuts. Other than that it has been enjoyable so far.

No, it has a lot of cuts that causes loop holes in the story. Best version would be the 2008 version staring Huang Xiao Ming as it is closest to the novel.

I haven't yet, but I understand Mandarin so I finished the series without any problems.

Just finished the series and I really like this version. If it wasn't for the cuts, this would've been my favorite version so far. The uncut 2008 version staring Huang Xiao Ming is still my favorite only because it is the closest to the novel as possible. I really hope that due to the bad ratings they would release an uncut or at least a less cut version. As a fan of the novel and TV series, I give the 2020 version an 8.5 out of 10. Enjoyable as a fan, but is messy and chaotic if I was a new to the story.

All the wives have appeared as of ep16 and I like this cast for the girls. Ah Ke could have been better, but it's not like the previous ones had a perfect cast for the wives either.

In a revision of of novel, Wang Yu Yan goes back to her cousin. The 2013 tv series version used this revision. In the novel, Duan Yu has another wife in the form of a maid that was given to him by Meng Gu. This has never been used in any of the tv series. I guess they think it is too insignificant of a role.

I agree that the pacing is bad and jumps around . I blame that on them for cutting the episode count from 60 to 45. What makes me even more mad is that they cut a lot of the wives' scenes. Like Mu Jian Ping's scenes are totally cut. You have no idea why she calls him dear brother and you have no idea why she has a broken leg. Those who know the story may know but those who are new are left scratching their heads. I really hope they release the uncut version. Otherwise it deserves the 2.5 rating it is getting from the Chinese audience and I am actually enjoying this new version.
