I think the architectural thing will be explained but I think rn we are meant to be lead to be believe that he somehow stole the design? But I think that's not actually the case.
My (kinda far-fetched) theory is that D sold the design after making it, kinda like a ghostwriting situation (maybe H was the one who brought that opportunity to him? they seem to share a secret other than just the sleeping thing). And it just ended up being a super famous design or smth.
And I just feel like him being that rich doesnt make too much sense even if he graduated from a top uni and doing the tutoring thing, I think maybe he used the money he got from the design to jumpstart his career or smth?
Alternatively, less farfetched theory is the one you mentioned, maybe he submitted that design for his uni coursework and it was stolen (maybe from that kid's mom who's a prof at D's uni). D obviously knows the design is now well known, so maybe thats why he didnt dare challenge anyone even if it was stolen?
this is really good so far at ep5. i think the most obvious answer might be a red herring here and there are still characters and events that we have no clue about so it could honestly go anywhere so im pretty excited.
i find the pacing pretty good, its a psychological thriller and the editing gives just enough time for you to contemplate on new information for it to marinate nicely. if you like gruelling psychological thrillers and like to speculate along while watching this is perfect.
