Does anyone else find the story dull and uninteresting?I was really looking forward to this drama as it was directed…
It become repetitive. The writers probably didnot have any ideas to writes anymore. Each cases we will had male demons fall in love with goddesses or mortal. They become evil cause of their lovers. Or vice versa. Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat.
We are at ep 17. Still 17 to go. But they already tell us almost everything. What is Lu Lin motive. Why ML kill a lot of people years ago. This will be good if it has only 20 eps. But 34???
The last arc will probably about ML (demon) and FL (goddess student) story.
The cases are pretty solid though few of them are preditable specially the last case.
But what made this drama very good is the chemistry and friendship of these misfit policemen and policewoman. One not very social leader and four crime division members that not that good solving cases at first.

The pacing of this drama was very good. So many kdramas and jdrama and cdramas had amazing start but boring in the middle and rush ending. But not this one. It had Good start, better in middle and suprisingly long and good ending.
Does Yeonwoo (Police Officer) get a romance happy ending?
Basically there is not any romance between them. Maybe only very little flirt here and there. The weakest point of the drama. Her mother , father and her father girlfriend had more romance line than her.

The relationship.become much complicated with Makjang story lines.
The love interest between Soon Jae son and Dong Gun daughter dominates the whole show and very unnecessary to strech it too long. One of the weakest point of thia drama.
The relationship between the female cop and the cafe worker just go nowhere and dissappear at ep 8 or 9? And appear again fpr 1-2 minutes at end of ep 12.
Overall the chemistry and friendship of the veteran actors shine the brightest here. The boy that appear randomly was not bad. But he dissapear like magic near end of series.

And it will become worse after eps 24. Maybe you can do other stuff while watching the rest of the eps. Like me, writing comments while watching last ep. 😅 Believe me, you won't miss much of the story.
If you are not a hardcore fans of the ML or FL, my advice is skip this drama. The first 5 episodes were well written. After that, the writer try to strecth the thin scenarios into 32 eps. It was so bad that I watch it while doing others thing including writing few comments here.

From eps 20 to the end, the editing staffs keep giving us so many flashbacks scenes from earlier episodes. Meaning they did it to add more time filler to the show.
The ML from bad ass prince become love sick prince and most of the series almost get killed a lot of time. Lots of drunk scenes and crying scenes to fill up the episodes.
The FL supposed to be a great spy and deadly assasin. But thru out the series, she did not do a lot of spying, her kungfu is mediocre and injured so many times till the end.
Others characters not very engaging. You see this kind of characters thousand times in other dramas.
Overall 6.5 out of 10. (At least the costumes , makeup and setting was good)
The drama started very strong. But it dragged too long in the family matters. And they suddenly catch the bad guy in just 2 episodes near the end.
The paced are not even. It will be much better if this drama has 30-32 episodes and cut put lots of filler.
The FL character here is very clever but she ended up many times without bodyguards in deserted places waiting to be rescue. Again and again. Up to the last episode.
And the transition from brother - sister relationship to lovers was just too long. Near ep 30 ish. Second couple get more and more screen time near the end indicating the writers ran out of odeas to write about the main couple.
Its an enjoyable drama.
Overall still a good but not great drama. 7.5 out of 10.
For those who want to see SK in romance series, try Tokyo Tarareba Musume . It is one of his earlier work. He was a support character here but he oushine almost all the main lead.
I am hoping they give the SML a horrible death. All he do is killing people, grabbing people's neck and hand. Threatening etc etc.
But this is for the best cause we will not had any love triangle. Only ML and FL love each other with deranged sick SML on the back ground.
And although the FL sometimes can be very stupid ( walking alone everywhere and get troubles so many times) But she know SML was so bad, that she stay far away from him.
Unlike few C-dramas where the FL somehow after being treat so horrible cannot stay away from ML or SML.
The budget in this season probably smaller than previous season. The setting look smaller and shabbier than previous seasons. Example: episode where they must pay rent or the house will be tear apart. The house looks like been made with thick papers. Even Running Man made it better in one of their episode.
Yuri and Dex love line look force where Yuri act damsell in distress. Cause in previous seasons, her character is a strong one.
The most enjoyable episode is the last one. Others are hit or miss.

Like every viewers here, I agree that they managed to make season 2 Better than season 1. The friendship, brotherhood and sisterhood between them is the main strength of this series. The romances though not the main plot, were potrayed nicely. Some of the mysteries are very good. Some are predictable. But all had strong plots and stories.
The best thing is the palace and politic arc is only at the beginning. Others arcs were at different places and cities. Its like we are also traveling with them all over ancient China which is a BIG plus.
The characters growth better in season 2. Best example is LLF become more calm and mature. In season 1, he was too prideful, mr know it all, seing things only in black and white.
Acting is TOP NOTCH. Maybe because they got the same actors all together season 1 and 2, the chemistry were through the roof.
This drama started strong. ML, SML, FL though all had their own flaws, they are clever and almost always step ahead. The story and plot moves quickly including the FL quickly fall in love with the ML who was try to kill her many many times.
But at around episide 26 and later, the writer lost the steam and the more unbelievable plots, sudden change of characters behaviour, and cliche plots made me fast fowarding lots of scenes.
And the worst is the 2 last episodes. How on earth that the writer strart the show with ML and SML had so many spies all over the places, but they cannot find a real evidence to blame the villain? So many people death for the ML try to find small clues to revenge his parents but at the end, he could not find any real evidence, other than the villain kind of confess at last episode.
Good start, sloppy and predictable ending. Great acting. Toxic romance from start to end. 7 out of 10.
FL will meet her teacher. After that her teacher will die. By (probably or not) she think the killer was ML men when she find out ML used her to track her master.
Thats why she agreed to marry SML.
The real killer probably the Real killer of ML parents (98%) or SML men by accident (1%) or ML men by accident.(1%)
